  1. Gravity waves - we saw them here too, but were in the car so couldn't take a pic
  2. There was an issue yesterday evening, it's back to normal again now.
  3. @Nick F has written a blog looking at funnel clouds and how they form. We've featured photos from @Aiden2012 and @Zak M on there - thanks to you both. Thank also to everyone for uploading all the great photos and video from the last few days. It's been fun following all the action. Funnel clouds spotted in the UK - But how do they form? WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Several funnel clouds have been spotted over the last few days under thunderstorm clouds, this blog looks at how they form and why they are different to tornadoes.
  4. They're still there, just not on the forum front page. You can write a status update by going to your profile, can @ name people within them to include/ping them and view other people's updates on their profile pages. You can also follow all status updates from here: https://community.netweather.tv/discover/50/
  5. Thanks, appreciated We've an update hopefully going live this pm, which'll introduce a gridded labelling option (in the settings menu bottom left).
  6. There's no updates running and from what I've seen it's been running at a normal speed. How many times have you seen the error?
  7. Some great photos and videos being uploaded today. For videos, can I recommend uploading them to the gallery as they'll then be processed and viewable in a player on the forum rather than needing to be downloaded etc. Once you've uploaded them, you can link to them in your posts: https://community.netweather.tv/gallery/
  8. Almost time for tour 1.. WeatherHolidays 2023 Storm Chase Tour 1 Outlook WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Guests arrive in Denver this weekend for the start of WeatherHoliday's USA storm chase Tour 1 in Tornado Alley. So what are the prospects for severe weather next week?
  9. As it was last year. This thread is for the heat haters, not for those who want to moan about people complaining about the heat. So, if you're not a heat hater there's no need to post.
  10. No. It'll be much closer range for specific, imminent threats of severe weather
  11. We've just pushed an update live which should improve the performance when scrolling and zooming on the map, particularly when there are contours displayed.
  12. Good to hear you're getting on well with it @Obese John. We don't have the option to change the time steps on there currently, but it's a good suggestion so I'll add it to the list. Meantime, have you tried using the slider much? It should be a decent way to move through the frames a bit more quickly.
  13. The problem with the radar link in the mobile menu should be fixed now
  14. Thanks @Met4Cast, good to hear the mouse thing is sorted. Strange one with the screenshots, looks possibly like a safari thing, so we'll dig into that. In terms of performance, I think we may have gone 2 steps forward and one step back with this batch of updates. We made some nice improvements to the contours and labels performance wise, but have possibly introduced a bug or two which have hurt it in other areas. We're definitely very focused on that side of things though, and will get to the bottom of it.
  15. I'm not sure what may cause that tbh, I've added it to the list.
  16. We'll have to look again, although it's tricky as Samsung's own simulator doesn't even show that happening. You're not running any add-ons in the browser are you? I've seen the issue with the menu. Will fix it tomorrow.
  17. Nice update just went live with a bunch of improvements, bug fixes and updates. We now have another background map option on there - world imagery: Fixed some labelling issues, where on some maps they weren't showing west of the meridian line. We've also thinned out the labels as you zoom out, to improve performance. The country outlines were a bit too lo-res on the hires models when zoomed into the UK, so we've updated those to use the same ones as on the radar. Added a notification as a new model run is available, which is particularly useful when on mobile through the app. Added zoom in/out buttons on desktop and tablet - @The PIT Improved labelling on the 2m temp maps for temperatures > 30c Added an additional fix for the weird safari behaviour on changing models etc - @Met4Cast Added a fix in for the possible Samsung browser height issue (we couldn't recreate this on the Samsung simulator, but have added a delay in checking the height, as that browser has been known to not give correct height info immediately on load) - @Mapantz Plus a bunch of other minor updates and fixes Thanks for the bug reports and feedback up to now, please shout if you see other issues or have any thoughts to share.
  18. Thanks, very odd. We'll have another look to try and stamp it out completely.
  19. Pretty good snowcover on the Cairngorms today. Shame the hill is closed for the season, may have been quite fun at the top.
  20. I said we'd look at it and we will, I have already identified the issue, and given you a workaround which you can use for now if you want. I don't know what more I can say beyond that.
  21. I've said we'll look at it. It's an alpha version. We're developing it, but we're not here 24/7 to fix your issues within 5 minutes, I'm afraid.
  22. It's because it's not reporting the correct window height. If you open the menu and go to release notes, you'll likely see the controls there. We place them at the bottom of the map and the size of the map is based on the height the browser says the window is.
