The Gfs 12z gives us several reloads of polar maritime throughout the run with wintry ppn and night frosts at times, much better than constant mild we had in December so at least there is something to keep coldies interested until we hopefully see a marked pattern change to significantly more wintry weather through the second half of February which is still being mentioned by the experts.. : )
Well done Frosty, defo keeping the spirits up on this forum

Just been looking at Earth wind site, and the flow today could bring some precipitation further West, certainly seems to be showing further West on Net Radar. How would that affect Mondays transition?

Invigorating drive across Dartmoor (Headland Warren) today, good covering of snow and a proper skid pan especially when you meet another car, I love proper Winter. Bring it on.

bored waiting for Santa to bring some snow, so started reading about the 1946-7 winter, interesting how December started very similar to this one, here's an extract describing the month; The strangest thing about 1947, was the first part of the winter was very mild, with only 2 failed cold spells...The weather in fact, turned unseasonably mild for a time. On the 15th January, the temperature in Leeming, North Yorkshire, didn't fall below 11.7c, and rose to 14c the next day in parts of Norfolk, Herefordshire, and Flintshire. This soon changed. I wonder if history is repeating itself?

Snowing like stained glass window here and strong winds

Snowing here at Throwleigh, how long will it continue?
-
Blowing like hell at the moment trees looking like they will snap, massive flooding on the lanes around Throwleigh, reduced to just one route out, considering we are 837 feet above sea level it makes you think where all that waters heading.Unbelievable

Really heavy rain /wet snow mix at 11.30 wind really strong getting slightly lower in strength now, feels a bit more like winter!!

I would like to say that the positive input from the more experienced and educated forum contributors has made this winter an absolute pleasure to be a part of, I know its been hugely frustrating, but you cannot hurl abuse at these guys just because we have missed out.
Its all about learning for me and since 2013 I have always read all comments on this forum, some have been down right rude, but the majority thankfully are superb.
A chance for me to say thank you for taking the time and effort to post, (I will try to post more model related this year with accompanying charts etc)
