  1. Dunno what my rank is..............:) I see the forecasts we're accurate. Looked like rain was gonna miss Scotland altogether................and it's pouring with rain
  2. Convective Weather CONVECTIVEWEATHER.CO.UK Forecasting thunderstorms and severe convective weather across the British Isles and Ireland for up to the next 5 days. Day 1 Convective Outlook VALID 06:00 UTC Thu 09 Sep 2021 - 05:59 UTC Fri 10 Sep 2021 ISSUED 07:13 UTC Thu 09 Sep 2021 ISSUED BY: Dan An upper low covers the UK and Ireland on Thursday, leading to a more widespread risk of showers and some thunderstorms compared with Wednesday. Early showery rain and embedded thunderstorm activity within a zone from Northern Ireland across to northern England will lift north into southern Scotland through the morning, although in general any lightning activity will probably decay. The main focus will be related to diurnal heating beneath cool mid-levels, resulting in 500-900 J/kg MLCAPE developing in many parts of England, Wales and Ireland. Numerous heavy showers and some thunderstorms are likely to develop, particularly where aided by orographic forcing and low-level convergence. Some modest flow aloft across England in particular may allow some organisation/cell longevity, whereas weak shear over Ireland will tend to result in mostly pulse mode. Where the steering flow becomes near-parallel to convergence zones, multiple cells may train over the same areas and this brings a significant risk of local flooding - of particular concern is a corridor from N / NE Wales through NW England (especially given the number of urban areas in NW England) and also parts of the north Pennines towards southern Scotland. A MDT has been introduced where coverage of lightning may be greater overall, although an area of showery rain could move through this area from the south during the afternoon and limit surface heating for a while. The strongest cells could produce some marginally-severe hail. Thunderstorms will slowly fade through the evening hours, but still possible across northern England and southern Scotland into the first part of the night. Meanwhile attention may turn to the central/eastern English Channel into SE England where a few showers and weak thunderstorms could approach during the evening/night as a shortwave lifts northeast. Some interest also exists for a few sporadic lightning strikes over the North Sea close to eastern Scotland during the night hours, shifting north towards the Northern Isles.
  3. already had a small bit of rain this morning this next lot about to start gonna last quite a bit longer
  4. 27 here today. It's HOT! but a comfortable hot maybe cause of the time of year or something. Wonder what might have achieved temperature wise if this was the height of summer
  5. Took a while but the cloud did clear to leave us with a stonking afternoon (and got tomorrow to come too) Some sort of breakdown on thursday but to what extent is uncertain and looks like it won't be unsettled for too long................
  6. Hard to believe we supposed to get to 24 today (and 26 tomorrow) with how grey it is at the moment (which it has been since yesterday) not very inspiring at all
  7. Surprisingly enough rain earlier on today to dampen the ground (first time that's happened in a while)! Didn't last long though
  8. Looked like was eventually gonna brighten up today sun did come out for about 15 minutes about an hour ago but quickly clouded in again
  9. Already much less cloud than yesterday. Should be a crackerjack of a day although this weather can't go on forever so it will change but some indications that maybe next week could (briefly) get very warm?
  10. as you we're with the weather here basically maybe bit more hazy with high cloud today but still lovely
  11. And true to form Cloud did evebtually break. What a lovely summers afternoon without any real stinking heat. Perfect!
  12. A cloudy and grey start but should improve. Really does look like a absolute crackerjack of a week coming up
  13. Winds lighter than it has been that's 1 plus.........but the cloud's more stubborn and don't think it gonna quite break up the same this afternoon as it has done last couple of days
  14. Been a lovely afternoon. Mostly sunny (not what was expected) signs of Autumn with some leaves starting to turn yellow
  15. Not been too bad today............when the sun was out but now it's clouded in feels really quite chilly with that wind
  16. Much better weather today........it didn't rain Wasn't clear blue skies by any stretch and fairly breezy but much improved. Tomorrow looks a bit meh again
