  1. Quite hard to believe the snow has actually stopped pretty much for the first time since erm last Thursday pm? imagine if temps remained below zero all that time, with nil thawing and every single flake actually sticking! some unprecedented falls no doubt with added misery on some transport networks methinks.Another 47/63 in the making..
  2. Cheers Dancer..getting heavier now, that wind feels bitter! a cm or two perhaps for some?
  3. Yes,was just about to say the same.Be interesting to see what happens to the lot now sitting over parts of E Anglia? Really did think the fun and games were over in terms of snowfall today.Still snowing here although a touch lighter than earlier this morning, good chance it'll pep up soon.
  4. Still mainly light, occasionally moderate although i suspect the worst may well be over for now.Must be nippy less of a drip drip noise outside today! Thought of ordering a dial-a-pizza?
  5. Some great pics/vids peeps! epic scenes to be honest..some high ground has been well and truly clobbered! Just drawn an imaginery line from here to Gt.Yarmouth on the E coast, pretended the whole area of snow suddenly began to tilt in this direction. Now we'd be stalking.
  6. pure madness...or bad manners! looking one step beyond at the latest sp sure is neck turning stuff.
  7. wow nice shot..poor daffs! and Spring lambs,if you get my drift
  8. Interesting looking at latest radar grabs, seems to be becoming more organized further East aswell, with a possibility the whole lot pushes towards us later and overnight? are there gonna be a few more surprises in store? Many Midlander's may have escaped the largest snow totals so far,but we're best placed i think for the snowfall to continue today, overnight and possibly into Sunday too.Hmmm.
  9. Good question, probably due to the Easterly flow continuing to gradually feed in colder air and push away any of the milder stuff from the West/SW direction. We just happen to be beneath the boundary i suppose? and the shower train just goes on and on.Still fairly heavy but nothing compared to yesterday pm and overnight.
  10. Doesn't it,either side getting hardly nothing except overcast skies and that raw biting wind.Interesting to see how long it'll go on for and whether it peps up further? Wouldn't bet on another 10cm though
  11. Been snowing on and off pretty much since morning,or 8ish when i finally got up.Becoming slightly heavier again bigger flakes and darkening skies, although saying that can't see totals totting up all that much before it finally fizzles out later.Temps just a degree or so above freezing. Have about 9-12cm quite widely with a little more in some drifts, more especially further out in the sticks and in more exposed places. Not bad at all for late March!
  12. Can see the whole area of precipitation now gradually winding down and albeit very slowly narrowing,at the same time intensifying in places too with quite a few pockets of very heavy falls here and there throughout the night and beyond. Many more hours of snow yet to come folks,a surprise maybe even rude awakening for quite a few come morning despite the fairly sceptical mood in here.Which to be honest is totally understandable after all the closer shaves we've had in more central parts over the past few months. Should probably be more than enough for a snowman or two and what better day to build one than say a Saturday? or directly after a morning fry up Night folks.
  13. Not good...used to live on a sharp bend quite a few years back - during many a snow event it was often a case of watching cars doing Torville'n'Dean impressions! some places not unlike yours are really getting clobbered and as you rightly point out more yet to come tonight and into tomorrow.Case of staying in and avoiding all unnecessary journeys from now on.
  14. Yep,beats floods hands down or worse still hours of relentless drizzle! this snow sure is making up for all the murk of Winter gone (well maybe)
  15. A particularly heavy area of snow now skirting the Malvern hills area, some higher parts are no doubt getting plastered - interesting night ahead and the odd curtain twitching sesh in the wee small hours lol! 8-10cm would be a very decent fall, especially for lower parts.
  16. Painfully slow progress but the wet snow continues to pile up,if temps were that bit lower or to be more precise below zero then this would've been so much more clear cut... Borderline snow can and usually does your nut in still we mustn't complain eh! it is late March after all.
  17. ..should get at least a foot of slush at this rate! deeper in drifts lol...freezes overnight tomorrow and hey presto! could well make world news Jokes apart,a degree or so has made such a difference in terms of snowfall today and yes some big flakes made for some interesting viewing. All that's required now? whole lot trundles N,stalls then trundles back S again, stalls once again before it fizzles out by Sunday.Followed by snow showers pushing in from the E. For snow lovers anyway!
  18. Cheers folks! indeed,as i said earlier sleet has now pretty much transformed to pure flakes of snow blowing about at a fair rate of knots..wow getting heavier as i type.Gonna need alot more before it makes much impact accumulation wise. This time tomorrow may well be a different picture altogether
  19. 1st post lol please be gentle..earlier sleet gone, snow getting heavier by the min here big flakes too.Lilleshall Mids.
