Judging by most forecasts the strongest of the winds should have passed out into the North-Sea by the evening, but it depends where you're flying to. Just don't fly east unless you want to chase Imogen, I know she sounds attractive but I can assure you she won't be lol :D

We're flying up to Tromso, so away from the storm. I magine only take off will be the issue. The jetstream moving south makes a pleasant flight more likely.

  2. Hmm. Would appear likely that my Monday afternoon flight from Gatwick will be at least delayed then. Which is no disaster since I'm arriving late in Tromso regardless, and I'd prefer to avoid a bumpy take off. Any suggestion as to when the winds will begin to calm?

  3. I don't suppose anybody is able to tell me what the current model output says for Reykjavik? I'm heading up there next Friday for a long weekend and I'm hoping either for a bit of snow and some clear night skies to have a shot at seeing the aurora. Both would be nice but I appreciate that would need a lot of luck! Anyway, I know it's a long way off in terms of accurately predicting weather, but it would be interesting to know what the models are saying now.

  4. We haven't done badly at all in Hinckley. Torrential rain for a time and frequent enough thunder and lightning. It sounds as though there's one rumbling towards us now, too. We also had a bit of a cracker in Nuneaton when I was at work at around 4pm.

Is this expected to continue? I haven't managed to catch a forecast today.
