I see some very dark clouds in the distance...
It looks like it has a decent radar echo too. Hopefully it will do something, even though the chances of that are slim
I caught today's storm in NI on camera if anyone is interested. I got the extremely heavy downpours and sped up some footage of the storms structure as it approached. Got some loud thunder but didn't get any of the lightning on film
I was thinking so myself The storm is much closer now, and it has retained its solid looking anvil. This thing looks like it is on a crash course with me!
Just heard a loud but distant rumble of thunder. Wind picking up now too!
Cell rumbling to my north.
Another huge cell is approaching from the south, just beyond the border.
It has made a decent amount of lightning strikes too, fingers crossed that it reaches here!
This is the cell that hit me.
It made a bunch of flashes with some loud thunder, and unleashed the heaviest rainfall I have seen all year, with a bit oh hail mixed in too. There were some pretty strong winds before it hit.
I guess I spoke too soon. A storm has now popped up in NW Ireland.
The low cloud has also mostly gone, and now I have a view of what looks like a Cb to my south west, although it is hard to make out...
There is currently a group of big thunderstorms to the west of Ireland, I don't know if they will effect the UK. I doubt that I will see any storms though, it has just been fast moving low cloud and drizzle all day.
There seems to be a lot of CAPE where I am on Friday, nice negative lifted index values as well. Hopefully it will be put into action, I'm really hoping so!
I managed to get another storm today in NI. It had a fairly nice structure to it, but it wasn't anything overly special. Looking forward to this Friday when the CAPE where I am looks like it will be the highest. Fingers crossed!
