Was out cycling there and I saw distant lightening off towards donegal a few times. I'm driving from limavady to groomsport and back tomorrow. I might see some snow on the Glenshane.

It went almost dark here and I thought we were in for a hammering but nothing much really happened. Just a bit of hail.

Had a flash of lightening but it was very far away

Thunder and lightning here. Its wild out but still no snow. Even a bit of hail would be nice. Glad to see a few of you getting snow!
I'll have to see if that reaches limavady wouldnt mind something interesting

I'm not even getting up to look at what's coming down here I'm too depressed lol.

I drove round the north coast from Downhill to Portballintrae. There were some decent waves nothing overly dramatic. I drove over the bishops road. There was a few cm of snow lying at the top of Binevenagh.
-
Heavy hail shower left the place when then turned to sleet. It is trying to turn to snow.
-
Heavier parts of that last shower were a touch wintry.

I walked round to the wife's work with the buggy earlier before and it was a pleasant temperature. When I came out again after 20 minutes or so it was cold to the point I was walking fast to stay warm.
My weather station base station batteries ran out a couple of days ago and I haven't got around to replacing them yet. Talk about bad timing lol.

The sky is looking very heavy and dark towards the north west must be more precipitation in bound.

I think the wind has died down a bit in the last half hour.

Limavady is virtually sea level though. Snow will be over 600 feet, lower in heavier bursts.
Yea I'm only 25 m above sea level. Lough foyle has a very strong influence on the weather here too. You only need to go a couple of miles inland to see a big difference.

The met office forecast is still just showing rain symbols for limavady on Monday and Tuesday.
