  3. http://news.bbc.co.u.../uk/8358530.stm one of you probably has posted this already..bbc says worst storm to come of the year....
  4. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8358530.stm one of you may have already posted this......bbc news - worst storm to come...
  5. where it say that then - do you you mean telly?
  6. Thanks Coast. If I stay I will of course try and post reports. I had a quick look at the sea but alas left my camera at home. I have my phone mobile camera but no way of adding to the netweather site if i took some; unless someone emails me their mobile and I can send a photo through.
  7. Ok chaps think you are right now here is a dilemna i dont finish work here in brighton til about 5 or 6 pm tonight and then i should be travelling (driving) back up to Newbury Bearing in mind it will be dark, wet tonight I think i shld wait til tomorrow morning dont you? at least it will be daylight to face the motorway, plus less traffic..... (plus I can be on the coasst to feel the storm and report on netweather...?
  8. Hello coldfingers Hows my favourite Bognor now? In Brighton and gusts seems to have picked up abit more now., It was my parents and thanks for the tip, my sentiments exactly. wonder if they will listen though? I checked Chimet earlier and just outside the harbour it is getting a little stronger.
  9. Thanks for this chaps. I just remembered my parents are in Padstow, cornwall at the moment and due to drive back to chichester saturday. Both are in their 70s, so I think it maybe prudent to advise them not to drive home Saturday morning?.....
  10. Hi tom, I have a feeling your ferry ( I assume you are taking the ferry and not sailing over) may get cancelled...or is that just the Isle of Wight ones? Shipping forecast may shed a little light....at the mo though for thursday there is a Force 8 warning for the Wight and Portland http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/marine/shipping_forecast.html#All~Portland That reminds me how best to listen to shipping forecast - which radio channel? PB I like Magicseaweed site aswell as it tracks the swell - (always a sailors warning is the swell out to sea - big swell on coast, storm out to sea) ...although not sure how accurate the data is and John you maybe better at the advice on this than moi. Did anyone notice how very very calm it was this morning on the coast this morning? not a leaf russling in any breeze. I am getting carried away now but this article is interesting.. I may go off to the sea and see if I can see the swell direction...... http://magicseaweed.com/Swell-Quality-Content/1163/
  11. Hmm ..in Brighton too and the wind and rain seems to have just dropped in last five mins. It may have changed direction and I will take a look in a mo. It may be a lull. Still some gusts but not full on. Need to access the radar and find out why this is..only just joined the forum tonight so need to catch up!
  12. I suspect it will be right at the last hour you will get on. Hold onto your hat me thinks.
  13. Well in brighton today and plenty of great thunder rumbles and downpours...think one is passing over now but no thunder yet. Strangely coming from the north west, rather than from the sea, or maybe circulating? Any thoughts? here is a couple of pics though of the sea and the cloud formations at anbut 7pm...I just couldnt resist. I have probably missed some great shots earlier this afternoon. ...work got in the way... oooh as I try to upload..there goes a big old rumble...should I go down to the sea again?
  14. Hi all In brighton at the mo - storm has passed at about 3ish I think - wonderful. There seems to be another one brewing out in the sea but it is shifting along the coast rather than inland unless anyone has radar shot to pick what it is doing...? I dont have access at the mo?
