Hello Baz, where are you reporting from, can you update your profile to show your location please.
Yes of course, done. :-)
-
Definitely seeing more of a south as opposed to southwest movement on the last two updates :-(
-
Bad news, its starting to drop south!
Wasn't much movement in the last update. Still looks to be intensifying a bit though.

I reckon a northerly flow definitely benefits our peninsula. Get the streamer set up with the cold in situ and it's game on. The beauty is that 12 hours ago no one knew it would happen!

It's the hope that kills you.

It's still moving south west and intensifying slightly.
Let it continue.

That big clump of cloud is certainly heading towards Somerset if it continues its current track.
Will be an interesting watch on the radar.

Nether Stowie, Nr Bridgwater - feeling very cold suddenly, moderate hailstones.
-
Then head out to the Quantocks in the early morning if you have not seen much Taunton way that is your closest port of call unless you fancy Exmoor or Mendips.
Early morning? I'm from Devon, I don't get up before Midday :-)

If I was you I would head up to Exmoor around ilfracoombe way looking at track of showers, could be stunning up there.
Crazy for snow Bazray? If you travelling I would head for the Mendip hills, you wont find anything in Torquay but maybe Taunton. Not until the very late tonight or early hours tomoz.
Crazy for any extreme weather! Always head down to the seafront when there is a good storm on, gets wild down there. But a bit of thunder snow, that is damn exciting.Crazy for snow Bazray? Let it snow :-)
Thank You, it's a toss up between Torquay and Taunton tonight. Partner lives in Somerset. If I was you I would head up to Exmoor around ilfracoombe way looking at track of showers, could be stunning up there.

Torquay, feeling cold, overcast with light rain.
Am thinking about travelling up to Somerset this evening. Who has the best chance of snow? Torquay V Taunton?
-
Definitely picking up, getting a few blasts of wind.
-
Sat on Torquay seafront, been raining heavily for the last two hours, starting to get quite gusty, but nothing worse than you would see in the winter.
-
No one is wishing for death and destruction. Just looking forward to viewing what nature throws our way.I agree, a really poor analogy. So what analogy would you use to compare people who wish for death and destruction during a weather event?

Don't get too excited, mine just went out on on the LAncs / Yorks border 11 miles Northeast of Manchester.
-
My Sky box signal just dropped out in Devon, the rains picking up nicely. Bring it on.

It's not due yet, it does not arrive in the SW till 12ish, so will be later where you are.indeed over here we have completely static trees... no wind at all, it doesnt feel like there is anything going on... Im in runcorn although Im looking at NE from my window so I wont see it coming.

The winds should stop the calm before the storm. It's on it's way

Is that a good viewpoint?Get yourself up onto Berry head!

The police in Torquay have just released a statement warning to stay away from the harbour and seafront as it could be extremely dangerous.Don't think I can resist it.I'm with you on that one, will be heading off towards Chesil beach to watch the action at some point. As you have tried to point out, it is possible to watch the might of Mother Nature without being reckless at the same time! Those that venture onto the beach itself however are idotic beyond belief!

Get a kite, you can fly home:)I would love to be able to get to Southend tonight, tide times show a high tide at 5am, which is pretty much perfect!
I can get up there easy as c2c are still running, trouble is getting back!
Part of the rail line at Chawkwell is say 5-10 meters from the sea wall, I can't see c2c operating between Benfleet & Southend tomorrow morning

Good advice, not to sure about the walking, think it might be safer in the van. Going to play it by ear, if it looks to nasty out there might just give it a miss.best to probably park up by the livermead just to be cautious.....quick walk down to the seafront if it's not too choppy....(born and bred in Brix, so know Torquay very well )
-
Thanks. I will don't worry, if it gets too bad, I'll just view it through the window.you be careful my friend
-
Not going to get washed out to sea, why do people keep saying thatDepends on your location im having just a bit of wind and rain other people are gonna have a bit more than that.Stay in its safer why would you risk your life and others if you got washed out to sea.. comman sense thats all thats needed. Why not sit under a massive tree ..no thought not.

I'll find somewhere good to park, but yea, they may shut the seafront if it gets bad.don't think the local council will allow you near
