  1. Well it was a complete bust for South Wales - this mornings rain that stretched to the south coast did really inhibit us, although or the Northern edge, some storms did develop and through Brecon and the hills toward Snowdonia - Of course, it was the small parcel of cloud in South London that dominated events today, expanding in such ferocity to take on Heathrow Airport and cause absolute havoc - storms did try to form behind it and to the South West of the main storm, but they all seemed to fizzle out --- at the same time on the Northern edge, extending all the way to near Manchester, small cells formed .. in what would eventually form a large group of storms on the frontal edge extending from the M4 to Birmingham and beyond. - Later this evening, although weakening, the odd flash over the Welsh borders, and a final punchy push of the storm West of Lvierpool I've seen video of hail, funnels, frequent lightning and rain which can only be compared to the spray from waterfalls such as Victoria. satellite imagery shows a big ball of cloud stretching from The East English coast to Mid wales - and from the M4 to North as far as Manchester. -- What an incredible storm cloud that fills up nearly the entirety of the Midlands.
  2. is netweather radar accurately picking up the rainfall from the western edge? or is the cloud depth too much for the radar to accurately measure it?
  3. sat 24 5min radar showing quite a significant development , so perhaps there'll be more cells developing westwards, which would encourage that setup on the Arome ---
  4. Well, lets hope so ! though I dn't see anything of the sort developing currently !
  5. several areas of London look like they're ready to go pop !
  6. radar showing a developing approaching Peterborough also looks like quite an area of convection developing South of London. - and less so North of London Developing shower between Liverpool and Manchester After a lot of cloud, there seems to be a break forming in the South, stretching west toward Southampton - Could allow for developments such as that in South London currently
  7. Just like what you said earlier, even with all this cloud, the sun is somehow finding a way to break through, - the humidity is also very intense.
  8. seems like you were trying to create a CG strike in your typing due to impatience
  9. View toward the mountain ash shower - lots of high cloud, humidity is absolutely suffocating.
  10. only about 2 miles west of me, been trying to upload photos, but it's not going through
  11. the absolute curse in the lower Welsh valleys.. is watching every storm develop as it moves away ... or watch them to the East over Pontypool and toward Gloucester haha.
  12. take a look at sat 24 , - you can see on the 5 minute update, you can see small dots of thicker cloud masses coming out of the band of rain on the Northern edge - and the development to the East of the rain too Weather United Kingdom and Ireland, Satellite Weather United Kingdom and Ireland, Weather Forecast, Rainfall, Clouds, Sun in United Kingdom and Ireland - SAT24.com EN.SAT24.COM Weather United Kingdom and Ireland, Satellite Weather United Kingdom and Ireland, Weather Forecast, Rainfall, Clouds, Sun in United Kingdom and Ireland - SAT24.com
  13. on very Northern edge of the rain, there seems to be some rising heights -- and something developing toward the East of the rain too.
  14. this rain in the South, on the far Eastern side of it, looking like a very brief break in the cloud, a small area of dense cloud is forming, looks like some convection.
  15. Noo I didn't hear anything -- the closest thunderstorm was crossing the English channel near IOW at the time
  16. Well this puts me on the Wester border of your severe Risk, but given the cloud cover, perhaps that's based on this evenings possible scenario -
  17. yes, it seems to be continually forming on the mountains to your SSW , and is generally expanding as it moves North over the Channel, - checking to see if there is new cell forming slightly closer to you but still looking West.
  18. about 3-5 miles West of Barnstaple, something certainly going on there against the grain of the light rain.
  19. Looking at Devon , something developing there.. - and the cluster of Storms in the South is really going off!
  20. you,, me both! - just hoping something penetrates that persistent cloud! something developing on the North Coast of Devon of all places!
  21. Well, almost immediately as I wrote my post, - the new sat24 image is out, showing cloud development - Vale of Glamorgan , South of Bristol all the way to the southern Coast and also East Birmingham.
  22. It has been a cloudy morning in SE Wales - but the cloud seems to be breaking up in places I'm frequently checking Sat24 for any thickening cloud areas , - if anything the opposite is happening in general, giving the sun a chance to break through and bake some favourable conditions for later on .. much like what is happening in Central-Western France.
  23. Not only for summer, but also as we enter Autumn , - I'm curious, what sort of Sea temps are there when the Hurricanes form around the U.S and Caribbean, we normally end up with weakening storms crossing the atlantic? Would this sea in anyway feed them?
