    That it then? Looks like winter has been cancelled again. How come every year the charts show so much promise then completely change at the last minute. It's like someone is teasing us.

    That's what they all do anyway. I think long range forecasts are a complete waste of time. All they do is get your hopes up or make you angry when the so called experts say something you don't want to hear. No one really knows what the weather will bring after 5 - 7 days.

    Hmmm, so basically they have no idea what is going to happen? They've listed nearly every possible scenario. Why do they bother coming out with this crap?

    I've got a good feeling about this winter. It feels pretty cold right now and the dry weather is encouraging if we want a cold winter. Just need to get through the Autumn with limited amount of westerly storms and I think we will be on track. I wouldn't bother looking at any long range models because they are useless.

    Well this winter has been a total let down. I hoped we would eventually get some cold happen but I think it's too late now. Seems like everywhere else is getting awesome cold this winter apart from us. Really sucks to be living in the UK right now. I wouldn't even say it's been that mild it's just felt like autumn has never ended and the endless rain is horrific! Hopefully next winter will bring us something special, if it doesn't I'm moving to Moscow!

    James Madden is probably fictional, the whole thing is a set up by the daily express to sell more papers. Has anyone ever seen a picture of James Madden or even Jonathan Powell who is another person they like to name drop, I didn't think so.....

    This winter is doing my nut in. So much hype then nothing!!!! then more hype then nothing!!! The charts are an absolute joke as well, total waste of time. America is blatantly stealing all our cold.

    Even Mr Mild Brian gaze has said it's more than likely we are going to see a decent cold spell soon.

    This winter will start on the 15th of January. I think we're just having a long autumn and we will see decent cold till the end of March. This is just a gut feeling and I hope i'm right :-)

    Don't really understand this thread. The models have finally started showing some proper cold and this forum has suddenly gone quiet??

    Models have started showing proper cold as we get into January. I think a gradual cool down from xmas day is on the cards. Let's hope some blocking develops

    Why is everyone being so negative? Long range models are about as good as a chocolate tea pot. The short range models can't even predict the weather after 4 days so what makes you think the ec 32 is going to be right?

    Oh yes because a weather report up to mid January is going to be correct isn't it? You only post things on this forum that cold fans don't want to hear, It's like you're trying to wind people up in a disguised type of way.

    I think the upcoming storms are going to break up the horribly mild pattern we are in right now. Can only be a good thing if you like cold. My gut feeling tells me it's going be turning colder from around the 23rd.
