4.6°, dp 4, rain. The media's "big freeze" didn't last long.

Can confirm - no snow fell for me, nothing lying.
Tangential but somewhat related - how difficult is it to accurately model dew points, current or future?

More precip forecast for tomorrow evening. Will be too warm for me but anyone else expecting something wintry?
Still interested in this. My dp is already 1° and the Farnham Snow Shield will hold firm but I wonder if others in the region might get something interesting?

UK-wide temps. Shropshire in the lead

So, only -1.8 this morning but everything's white and, as @Lauren says, this is better than last winter. I'm a snow-obsessive, but more important to me is that we get cold weather in winter - mild feels wrong and it can really b*gger up our wildlife, especially insects.

I have heard three rumbles of thunder in the last ten minutes!...Nothing falling from the sky but snow hasn't melted yet so no complaints.
Absolute show-off ?

i fell on our eight weeks ago and have damaged my back really badly, still struggling and in pain. bloody things they are,
I hate them. We've got a small amount in the garden and they're a nightmare. If we weren't moving I'd sort them out with grippy paint. Hope your back improves!

-2.0c here. Frozen slush and very icy on untreated surfaces.
I fear the NHS could be busy tomorrow
Unless people are careful, tomorrow will likely be what's known as a 'good donor day'. I hope people are sensible and cautious.

Agree feels colder. Windchill is taking things down a notch. Mybweather station is on the blink, 2.5, I don’t think so.
The deck boards are super icy but the trusty pan of water isn’t frozen so not significantly below freezing.
Hard frost forming on the damp grass ( no snow left- some settled higher up towards battle but washed away by the rain
Have you got a nearby weather station on Wunderground to compare to? Decking boards are a death trap at the best of times ?

-0.7 and dp -1. Could've done with this when we had precip ? The chickens are silent and it feels colder than the temps suggest.

lets not tear all 4x4 drivers to shreds... audi drivers tend to be the worst. it used to be bmw but audi have taken the lead. i've also noticed in recent years that some of the worst speeders and dangerous drivers are young women. the boy racer is being replaced by the girl racer!
Hey! No fair, I'm an Audi driver! ? Although tbf I'm on a mission to confuse the bejeezus out of people by being the most courteous Audi driver they've ever seen ?

Skies clearing here and temps creeping down. As @bobbydog says, be careful. I'm considering working from home tomorrow to avoid a > 1 hour commute amongst idiot drivers.
Apparently the decision has been made for me as I have a flat. I'll be treating myself to a new tyre for Christmas. Yay ?

Heavy snow in Lowestoft at sea level for the last hour. Now starting to stick. I suspect we are going to have a fair few hours of snow this evening and tonight here. And there was me thinking we'd escaped
Swap you ?

Just rain here now. MetO still reckons I should be getting heavy snow, adding insult to injury ?

What instruments are you using to get your dew point? As the dew point cannot be higher than the air temperature.
If you are already 86m above sea level, then you have been seriously unlucky!
I suspect my dp may well be b*ggered as I'm only using a Netatmo. I'm not even convinced the air temp is correct either as it reckons the lowest temp last night was 0.8 ? I'll need to sort this out.

Are you moving to higher elevation? or different location. It seems a lot of us snow lovers choose houses on elevation
Both. Location is the reason but elevation is a priority. I spent most of my childhood living in place that was 665ft asl so got really spoiled with snow.
ETA: tell a lie, just plugged the road into an elevation finder and it reckons I was at 706ft asl. Good times.

Dew point just too high here. Looks like I'll be missing out again We're supposed to be moving house in the next year and I can't bl**dy wait.

Bigger flakes amongst the sleet but still not proper snow. Temp 1.5 but dp still apparently 2.
-
Sleet in the rain here, pretty heavy.
