Just been for a walk in the higher parts of Aberdeen between 110 - 130m - snow falling is dry and is lying on some cars and grassy verges. otherwise just a very thin layer of slush which should turn white overnight.
Nothing but sleet and wetness at 33m

It would be good to know some of the current level snow depths in either Ballater or Braemar areas.
Must be pushing 15" to 20"...

Anyone know a good website where I can get the latest temperatures and due points for Aberdeen?

Still the same story in Aberdeen today - mixture of rain, sleet, graupel or wet snow. Interesting that the met office has rain forecast for the rest of the day but the BBC has snow. I suspect the met office will be correct...
However, i have been cheered up by the latest models which now seem to suggest temperatures low enough for snow to sea level into next weekend now! Last nights charts suggested a breakdown by Thursday. We shall see...

Quite stormy here overnight with bursts of heavy rain and sleet at times rattling of the windows in a very gusty wind. Still some sleety light rain at 2.4C. Looks like more of the same for the next couple of days though just a touch milder on Friday as slightly warmer air comes round in the flow from the South East. From then on hopefully snow all the way. By then I wonder what the high level routes will be like. Here is the A93 this morning on the Perthshire approach and a pic from earlier on the A827 also in Highland Perthshire.
Yeah been keeping an eye on the Glenshee and Braemar snowgate webcams - can't wait to see how buried they'll be by middle of next week!

Snowing in Aberdeen city now - no chance of it lying at this altitude though as it's very wet and not cold enough - probably will be above 150m a few miles further away from the coast though...

Temperatures have been lower in Aberdeen through the night and early hours compared to what was forecast by a degree of so - more of a wintry mix forecasted today compared to just rain that was predicted yesterday. More hail or graupel showers blowing in 10 mins ago but of course it melts shortly after.

Minimum sna here... bit of hail now rain (Temp +3/Dew +1). No snow or minimal at best... again! What an underwhelming winter.
It's snowing just west of the city centre now - not really lying but leaving it slushy in places. I thought we'd get nothing but rain until the weekend

Quite an intense hail / graupel shower in Aberdeen city centre ahead of the front which has partially made the ground white - never expected that.

-13c at Corgarff at 7.30pm - could be lower now

Somewhere like Braemar (330m) could be buried by next Wednesday - probably a foot or so in the next 2 or 3 days then it normally does well in an unstable ENE flow for showers feeding right through the Dee valley...

Slight cover of snow in Aberdeen this morning from 5 minute isolated shower at 6.30am - it appears east coast showers have fallen down to sea level judging by other poster reports.

The road is white here!? Not sure when that fell...
Yeah there's the odd isolated shower in north Aberdeenshire so you must've got lucky - for once!
Just back from a walk - wouldn't be surprised if any showers reaching here were on the wintry side too

Well despite the cold nature of the winter thus far, it's been a huge disappointment for snow enthusiasts on low ground in the North East - it looks like that is finally going to change later next week - some agreement now for some proper cold and snow for all levels. I'm no expert but it seems we really needs those -10c upper 850 to guarantee snow - we should have that in place by Friday next week......

Had to take a run into Inverurie this afternoon and it certainly struck how marginal this 'event' is/was. On leaving the house around 3:30pm it was snowing at the house (220m asl) but not lying. Only slightly lower down it was definite sleet, but in Inverurie it was 2C and rain. On the way back it was rain pretty much up until the high point at Tillyfourie, where it was snow and lying on the road. Back down the hill and into Alford it was back to rain, until we started climbing back up the hill. I'd say by then, around 5pm, the snow line was around 150m asl and it was snowing heavily at our house with maybe a cm on the driveway that wasn't there when we left.
MetO still has various intensities of sleet and snow through to noon tomorrow but on the radar the front looks to be dying out, so we'll see.
Yep. Snow level appears to be lowering - now snowing on the Foudland cam at around 130m - it was certainly rain earlier

I thought Milltimber might be enough inland to fall as snow - clearly not!

Just a few miles East from Max and across the river the temperature has risen over 1C in the last hour to 2.3C so despite getting heavier it is very definitely remaining as rain.
Yeah the rain band should reach us in Aberdeen in the next 30 mins - seems cold enough for snow and we have a harsh frost at the moment but I suspect the temp will pick up and any snow will be rain

Just back from a long walk throughout the streets in the west of Aberdeen and there's a pretty decent Windchill out there at the moment.
I suspect drifting snow may cause problems on higher routes tonight - falling snow and old loose blowing snow
2c, broken cloud and breezy

Where in Aberdeen are you at 156m? Highest point in the city is 130m so you must be just outside somewhere...
