Now the sun is slowly going down, more convection is happening over the sea which is good thing for me being just a few miles N from the S coast of Devon. -

Looks like that cell to the SE is weakening. It might intensify as it reaches land.- 942 replies

That cell to the S is still holding on. Will it get here? -

A cell pushing in from the SE, now. Can see it clearly. The structure is more like a weak shelf cloud than a normal shower.- 942 replies

I hope those torrential downpours get here from the SSE. They look tasty!

Lovely and sunny now after a light shower this morning, here. I hope those imports from N France get here. -
A bit E don't you think? The first convective shower has developed over Honiton and is moving NW. It is currently moderate rain, at this stage.

I wonder if today will be the last real day of thunderstorm risk. I would really like some action over tomorrow and the weekend. But, it's looking less likely now. Views?

Torrential rain all of last night, here. Not a single flash of lightning or rumble of thunder. I woke up at 02:00 to the sound of continuous torrential rain on the roof. -
Jeez! The lightning intensity has gone down dramatically. That's my chances over. Just some rain to water the garden. Oh well.

Looks good. But, that rain in the S needs to intensify further for any thunder and lightning to start. I wouldn't mind anything late afternoon. But, not really tonight.

There is less activity than there was in France, earlier. I don't know how I'm going to get this torrential rain tonight unless it convects out of nowhere.

Just curious. But, do you know if wimblettben is ok? -
Hmmm, I'm not going to get my hopes up tonight. There is no activity heading this way and with no instability present over the English Channel, things are looking dull.

You can see that thunderstorm cloud turning NW on the N flank of it. Fingers crossed.

Lets hope that whole lot in France moves W and keeps its energy.

No real action yet. This could be totally the opposite in several hours.
