  1. ICON and euro 4 had a decent stab yesterday, assuming it turns out that way - they were less keen today
  2. Seems to be this area of precipitation that is turning to snow as the cold air undercuts. Could well be a covering
  3. Snow chances on the increase Saturday night into Sunday early hours for us? Seems an upgrade on this for us
  4. Surely it is an upgrade, a step in the right direction in comparison to this mornings charts. Classic case of the gfs having a wobble then firming up on the pattern afterwards? ECM and GEFS will hopefully add some clarity...
  5. If it holds up I would have thought snow. No mountains to sap out the energy and favourable dew points! Depends if it makes it...
  6. Currently -0.9c decent frost last night still around esp shade. Expecting our region to have a hard freeze tonight - very cold nights for us next week under influence of a northerly
  7. Wondering if the 18z will become a hybrid of the ECM and GFS 12z. Interesting to see where this high goes
  8. Mostly clear and sunny with temp up to 7.8c this afternoon. Will be nice to see snow falling Thursday evening if it is very light. BBC forecast has light snow IMBY for much of the day
  9. How do you think the met/BBC are picking up on this signal? Very light flurries as per the other night?
  10. The high pressure building into Greenland in FI like you say has been present in all today's GFS OP runs, becoming more evident as each one rolls out. Something to watch out for tomorrow and in the ensembles ...
  11. Trending colder by mid month surely! ECM 12z ens down to circa 5/6c max temps, 18z GEFS members looking promising with high pushing up towards scandi, and MO predicting cool down and blocking mid month. All around the Christmas period. I know it's FI but trends got to start somewhere?!
  12. Sleet then proper snow for an hour (not settling) then sleet and now rain. Dew 0.0 temp 2.9c
  13. Keeping a glance at things tonight. Perhaps a dusting by morning over our highest parts?
  14. -3.5c recorded overnight, coldest of the winter so far. Clear skies with a little mist
  15. Sleety showers on and off today. Max temp of only 3.5c recorded. Dew point 2.8c. Certainly felt more seasonal. Watching for showers overnight possibly turning more wintery!?
  16. Very gutsy shout! Eagerly anticipating this evenings output
