  1. noticed media focusing on the floods been little mention potential of its powerful winds tomorrow its bad but people need to kept informed this system as well ongoing flood problem.  Without this website all you posters providing model data those in firing line would hardly know.  Wonder if government taking eye on seriousness its developing into.

I thank you all updating data.

  2. GFS 12z just out and has made the low slightly deeper and upgraded the wind speeds a touch this storm is look really serious now,

12pm Wednesday - Mean speeds to the South of Ireland over 70mph,

    Posted Imageukwind.png

Gusts of 60 to 70mph across England and Wales while the South of Ireland could see 90mph or slightly more,

3pm is when the high winds will move inland across Ireland, Wales and England. Mean speeds inland ranges from 35 to 45mph,

While the gusts look very severe with 90mph looking likely for the West of Wales and elsewhere across Ireland and England 60 to 75mph,

60 to 70mph gusts across Northern England and parts of Wales. Some places could see over 80mph,

All I can say is do not under estimate this storm of all the storms I have watched closely this winter I haven't seen charts looking this bad for Ireland, England and Wales and they have had some really high winds already and it makes you wonder what this one will bring that is forecast to be stronger.

Looking that where I live could see 84/5mph winds later.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

  3. I am in no doubt the track will correct slightly SE from its current projection. Not quite as far SE as the Met Office alternative track tweet. Perhaps passing just North of Lincoln as it moves in to North Sea.Just my view.

sticks us yellowbellies in firing line.  Wonder where ships will find save havens immingham/grimsby big ports.  I fear for the 2 oil refineries if that track happens.

  4. Winds don't look bad for southeast really, yes 60mph is pretty gusty but nothing that serious, I do understand the ground is very saturated in places

Which in itself worry. What risks of waves causing liquefaction

study showed waves could cause liquefactionits pdf small but very interesting.

hope this thing shifts like good storm but this scary.

  5. sounds to me best solution make it holiday for the day looking those runs.  Help at moment in firing line lot wind from 3pm onwards.  Time live in the bath get lid ;).  I actually excited and petrified at the same time live in highrise where the area increases winds like vortex. Not good when we could see 70mph gusts.

Which brings the question is it now time for uk to invest in storm measures at homes like america.

  6. What happened to Fridays storm ?

possibly could this have merged ?

Hi everyone new to forum  been lurking reading thread wanted join in.

I been tracking with this website the winds yesterday it was predicting what other models now seeing

    http://www.weather-forecast.com/topographic-maps/england?symbols=cities.forecast.wind

Not very good seeing news that water now coming back to surface flooding in berkshire ontop thames swelling.

Where I live been very lucky only fright was dec 5th surge which thank god dock master thought to empty docks abit before it came and surge came over the dock gates but action saved a town.

Looking like winds on the east coast could be very bad tempory defences which patched the damage, have been removed to support somerset levels, was this huge mistake not knowing when it will end. Not convinced this final swang song Lows with the model coming from USA around 16th 17th which hopefully due time might not develop hopefully.

update south west upto wales now be prepared on met
