I'm in the amber warning, east Manchester and I have 2-3cms.
I don't want to slag the met office, but they really have been bad with their weather warnings this winter.
-
Apps are * i know.....BUT met office has me down for 4 hours of heavy snow from 6am

Just watching the news, the snow was coming down really heavy in Leicester where a presenter was. So jealous.
its nice to have these flurries, but I am greedy. I want heavy disruptive snow imby...
-
Light snow flurries for last half hour, in gee cross, Tameside.
looking out to the west from the werneth low. It looks to me that the shower showers are picking intensity as the move towards Manchester from here.
-
Even in the east of the region, I won't get my hopes up yet. I remember 2013. Snow showers did make it over the hills to Stockport and they were beefy.
But they were too few and far between that there was never more than a cm or two which mostly melted straight away. And then when there was the big snow event that buried some areas, he had a few flakes in a breeze and that's it.
Wo i think in this region some will be lucky others won't just depends if we get under constant showers or not.

It's already feeling bitter out today. Sun shining and only 3c

Bbc regional weather just said the possibility of snow on the coast tomorrow morning...
-
We got 1 minute of sleety snow in Romiley Stockport and then back to rain.

I'm flying to Berlin 7am tomorrow till 9pm Sunday. So I'll probably miss all the fun and games, if my flight isn't delayed. Enjoy!

Looking on the latest gfs it's quite a few hours ahead of where it should be...

I remember the "winter" of 4 years ago. Still hadn't seen any snow by this stage and ended with just 3 air frosts and 3 days of falling sleet/snow in total. A 10 minute snowfall for the whole season including autumn and spring.
Are you still doing your Manchester winter index? (Sorry if that's not what it's called)
i am curious to know how this winter is faring? To me it seems that it has been one of the snowiest I remember, just sadly the snow hasn't sticked, or lasted more than a few hours Imby.

Only in this country can it snow for 3 hours continuously and just leave puddles on the ground. Drizzly now. Ha.
im wanting a nice dry sunny spring now....
-
It's been Coming down quite fast here for the past hour. But really small flakes. Ground is all wet. So not gunna stick. Still it's better to have snow fall all day (even if it doesn't stick), than rain.
-
Love the fact my weather apps say it's currently 0c and clear skies when in fact it's 1c and lightly snowing
-
2c. Abit gutted. I was looking forward to a nice walk this morning in the frost so my dogs wouldn't get muddy again.
-
Just had a sleet shower, turned to snow in the heavy burst.
-
Raining since 9:30ish here.
This really has been a crappy cold spell.
And this winter has been bizarre. Imby at 150m east Manchester. I have seen quite a lot of snow falling but not lasting/ sticking.
However the past two winters I didn't have as much falling snow, but both I had lying snow on the ground for a few days at a time.
-
Radar says it's above me, but nothing is falling from the sky. Non event here I think. And my car thermostat was reading 2c.
oh well, off to work I go.
Spoke to soon, I now have very light rain too.

No sorry.
Elevation is going to play a part for us too tho.
If it reaches greater Manchester....it's taking its time
-
Raining On and off all day.
I am fed up of this dark grey damp and bone chilling cold weather. If it isn't gunna be snowy, I'd just rather a sunny high pressure sat over us. So I can take my dogs out without getting wet and muddy.

Died down now, and back to sleet. I heaviest has whizzed past me now.

My pretty dogs with the hills towards glossop in the background.
So you can see, it seems maybe Merseyside got more than eastern Manchester areas for once!
