Well, it's gone over quite dark here in NW Bristol. Temp 3.4 with light snow now steadily falling. Wish this was an April fool's joke! Like just about everyone else here, as much as I love the cold & snow, there's a season for it and Spring isn't it!

Currently a strange mix of ice pellets and the odd flake thrown in for good measure in NW Bristol although actually definitely turning more to snow as I type! Temp a steady +1.3

Happy to have my fix of sunshine too today. Was a gorgeous daybreak at 06.30 with a slight frost glistening. Couple more days like this & I'll be well chuffed & indeed ready for more snow, and loads of it too! (as indicated by Ian F, and his lack of headache, as he's off - bloomin cheek!) Prognosis on the models still appears to be consistent, however, I'm thinking a toned down colder, drier picture towards next weekend.

Yes Chris. I've been keeping my eye on the ECM and the UKMO. Would love it to come to fruition, although lots of things have to go right for that outcome. Certainly looks more plausible than the GFS. My hunch would be a dry Easterly flow in about 10 days time. Anyway, back to watching those big fluffy wet flakes fall!

Moderate snow now falling in NW Brizzle. Looks like it's trying to settle on certain surfaces although not going to be troublesome. Temp now +1.8 after an overnight low of -0.5 Still, it's nice watching it fall for probably the last time this winter, meteorologically speaking. Happy days!

Temps still on the rise in NW Bristol. It was 4.8 at 09.00 (presumably due to evaporative cooling) and now a balmy 6.3 degrees. At least it's stopped raining, so may nip out for a spot of lunch. Might need some energy for an all-nighter if the latest is to believed??? My gut feeling is that it will turn sleety/wet snow as the precipitation fades overnight.
-
Blimey. if the GEM precipitation came off for Sunday into Monday, the SW would be practically snowed in while the rest of the folks who love snow in this country (or the MOD thread, at least) would be a little bit jealous

Well, what a beautiful day. Temp now a pleasant +4.2 after an overnight low of +0.4. Think I might go out for a run, to make room for a few jars later Also, is it worth washing the car, or is it just going to get covered in grit again next week? Just been reading this thread from last night. Some very good stuff indeed Keep it coming...........

Just back from what will probably be my last bit of sledging on Filton golf course with the kids for a while. Hardly any melt up there, and really is pretty deep still in the drifts. The snow was noticeably getting crustier, and therefore better for sledging while we were up there & only came back because it was too dark! Still got my trusty old school wooden sledge with metal runners from when I was a kid, which was a long time ago & it's still going strong. Puts all those plastic ones to shame haha! Good times! 'Er indoors would've loved it (had she not been taken away from us far too young). Temp currently -2.8 Guessing we should get our lowest temp of the winter tonight

Snow activity has definitely picked up in NW Bristol here in the past 10 minutes. Seems less of the wet variety too & I guess dew points have dropped a tad too as it's definitely icy now underfoot, rather than slushy. As Ian F has stated, looks like there's going to be a lull for the B&NES/Bristol area for a while soon, but maybe more later Temp still +0.4
-
Snowing now in Brentry, NW Bristol. Temp at +1.3 but still got pretty good snow cover from Friday & last night on my side street, so a top will do nicely, thank-you very muchly What's that smell lol.........
-
Eased off again for now and can hear a bit of a drip, drip, drip. Looks like one more moderate shower to come, then that's it for a while. My snow sensor seems to still work well as I woke up on Friday just as it was starting too! Anyway, nice surprise but off to get a few more zzzzzzzzz's before school run & work. Ps: I'd like to bank the 00z nae from an imby perspective please!

It's coming down rather well again. 1cm of fresh snow so far & settled readily on all surfaces, even where it had melted. Temp now +0.6 up from an overnight low of only -1.4
-
Well, it's lovely to see the stars for the first time in a while. Temp responding accordingly as its gone from +0.7 an hour ago to -0.7 now. Gonna hit the sack as it could be a long one tomorrow night, all being well !!!!!

Lamp-post watch confirms light snow falling. Looks like they're small flakes rather than the graupel of late. Temp +0.7

I'm gripped too. Spend a lot of time there in the summer month(s) & have a residence there (okay, it's a static caravan) so I'm rooting for you guys. C'mon Kernow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed, I'm just back from sledging with the kids on Filton golf course and can confirm that level of snow (18cm), & was quite a bit deeper where it had drifted too. Fantastic stuff! A very Happy 30th to the Lord of the Mendips too!
-
Well, I've always been happy with my 5 inches, none more so than now! Built a humungous snowman & just having a good strong coffee to keep me going for sledging this afternoon. Still snowing lightly, with the odd heavier burst, so that's 8 hours & counting (yes, I was another saddo awake at half 3 this morning!) Temp briefly rose to +0.2 & now back to -0.3

Still can't believe we're on the verge of something very special for the majority within this region. Models keep on pushing back the milder breakdown further & further. It always seems to stay beyond T144, if at all. Everyone I've spoken to today has been talking about the weather, so it's great that we have an amazing Met Office & forecasters to publicise the concerns many may have attached to this wintery weather coming up. Personally, I sooooo want to ramp it up, but something's holding me back after the "close but no cigar" scenario's over the years! Good luck all
