Newbie to SACRA, can I have a number please? I’m normally found in the Scottish group after being a long time lurker to the forums. Hoping for the snow gods to be just as good if not better to us in NE Scotland as they were last winter
Hi I am giving you 0.3 to carry on Jason's trend lol.
Snow shoe hare your number is still at the bottom of your posts you are number 76.

Jason 0 is not an option . Hi Anti Mild I am trying to keep your thread alive. But the winters we have had recently have not been worthy of this thread.
I remember the old days when this thread was filled with people ramping about snow and cold. I for 1 have dug out my wellies sorted some super sized cable ties for my tyres just in case and am very hopeful this year will buck the trend.
If not I have plan B just like Bojo lol. A kick ass snow machine.

Well i haven't had much call to open this thread for a few years but looking at the models i think the model thread is going to get busy this year.
With that in mind i am now opening up the SACRA clubhouse.
SACRA for those who have never heard of it stands for
Snow And Cold Rampers Association.
Here in our club house your are actively encouraged to ramp about snow and cold and even ask the will it snow question. I am sure some of the more knowledgeable or longer term members will be happy to answer.
I will start by asking peeps for some pics of suitable venuse for our club house. This is a fun topic. Members have enjoyed it for many a year.
Welcome all of you.

La Palma volcano eruption today: evacuation, possible tsunami and live updates
EN.AS.COMAt around 3:10 pm local time (10:10 am ET in the US) a volcanic eruption began at Cumbre Vieja, in the area of Las Manchas, with an explosion and lava release. -
Watchin it live on TV CANARIAS its amazing and scary. Some houses have been covered in lava already.
Its not as runny as the Iceland lava but very spectacular

I have been wondering the same thing. But i think the so2 gasses reduce the uv light that hits earth and so lowers the temp of the atmosphere. I think this year has been particularly active for volcanoes and it might poss effect the weather but i have no idea how much

Will be interesting in the next few months. Askja in iceland looks to be getting ready to eruot too. Have been watching the iceland one and have to say its awsome. Mother nature at her best. But have to say i have seen some idiots walking on the lava on the live feeds.

Been watching her on you tube just awesome eruptions. The lava flow is like a river after heavy rain.
Very beautiful to look at but wouldn't want to live near there.

Agreed, just had a look through the 12z ensembles and there are many, indeed most showing below average temperatures, even a few very unseasonably cold members....this is one coldie who would like to see some plume potential now!!!! ...that’s probably the end of my sacra membership now..lol..
Jon there's always a membership for you in SACRA

Been snowing all day not amounted to much steady drip drip this afternoon. Now the drips have frozen abd still powders on falling. Hoping it will pick up later. Definitely not been hammered here even though I am in Amber warning area.

Will it get any further west I wonder.? Prob not

Very windy no laying snow very wet nothing to see here or get excited about

Apps are a waste of time this close to the event. Don't forget the sea is a huge warm body of water convection will happen and the ppn will build up and come in as snow. Its a now forcast ignore apps and models. Its a low pressure system that will drag I cold air as it moves away.

And the Met Office warnings leave me out of the amber zone. Just a blustery day here.
