    Very wet here.....1.2C.....if temp drops below freezing later....might be a skating rink kind of a drive to work tomorrow..:-(

    Picked my son up in fair oak half an hour ago....heavy snow started settling on grass and cars...now back home....light sleety rain nowt...;-(..1.4C

    Weird....temp went down to 2.3... now back up to 2.9....with heavier blobs of rain....pah!!

    8.4C just over an hour ago....now 4.8C and still dropping...still be lucky to see sleet i think....but either way its better than last winter by a long way.

    The carrot keeps getting dangled in front of our noses and we keep trying to chase it.....is a few flakes of snow too much to ask for.....

    One thing I've noticed with forecast cold spells is that they pretty much always downgrade closer to the so called event....now take next weds/Thurs. ....met o earlier tweeted a possible disruptive snow event....now I bet closer to the time it will fizzle out to a mushy slushy mess at best....and us southerners more likely to get cold rain.......I would love it to be a great snow event....but it either gets pushed further and further back or it downgrades....sums this winter up for me....Rubbish....

    I really do feel everyone's pain.....it was supposed to be a lovely cold and frosty weekend and we end up with imby a one frost and then 6C and pathetic drizzle.....until the gfs screams of the next ice age at T+12hrs then someone come and wake me from my snow starved hibernation..

    Morning peeps and a Happy new year....amazingly got down to 0.9C last night and a slight frost......just looked in the model output thread and boy is it doom and gloom in there.....it seems like this winter cold and snow wise is never going to get going.....lots more wind and rain and a never ending Atlantic push.This has got winter 2013/14 written all over it. Would love to see a snowfest tho....

    Absolutely Dorsetbred I didn't see one flash of lightning or hear any thunder......just rain and considering we were under an estefex level 2 for a while it's a big fail for met o.
