Still freezing here, -2 according to car temp gauge, campervan still covered in frost. According to met o we're meant to get sleet at 8.00 followed by heavy rain. Any chance the sleet/rain might actually be snow I wonder?
Wakes up, rushes to window in excitement, throws open curtains expecting to behold lovely white snowy scene, sees..........more rain, sags in disappointment, decides to have another half hour in bed.
Snowing again here. Would be nice to get a good covering but I suspect it'll just be a dusting. Stupidly excited, but as I'm Cornish and not really used to snow think it's ok to keep looking out of window every 2 minutes.
Well I excitedly kept checking through the night, met o predicted sleet for Falkirk but we're quite high up so sleet down in the town is often snow for us. Sadly nothing but rain, horrid cold looking rain. :-(
Been a rotten summer so far, only managed two trips away in our campervan for the whole year. Last week's trip to Gairloch was abandoned after two days as we we're having to sit in our sleeping bags in the evenings in order to avoid frostbite.
It's helped with one thing though, definitely off to France for a summer holiday next year, stuff the staycation idea.
Any early thoughts on winter?
We took the kids up Anoch Mor on the Gondola last Thursday. They loved it. We're not skiers (Yet) so we just walked up to the nearest viewpoint and played in the snow away from the runs. I managed to humiliate myself trying to get to the viewpoint as you have to cross the drag lift run which was a sheet of ice. I had to go down on my knees to get across while hubby and kids pretended they didn't know me. Was also sneared at by a grumpy middle aged man in silly luminous yellow ski jacket. Still it was worth it for the view.
Shock just looked out of window to find fresh snow. Immediately stopped making packed lunches and rushed to check netweather forum. Much more fun than chores
