  1. Just had a snow shower (Donegal) ground is white. Nothing Scientific to back this up but April definitely seems colder than December was thus far
  2. Woke up to a dusting of snow in Donegal. Always nice to see
  3. Wow sensitive much. You said you liked warm weather and as it was a mild/warm Winter I said your team did well meaning it was a good Winter for mildies/warmies. How you managed to be offended by that is really quite pathetic, pity me . Honestly grow up man child
  4. And others will think its perverse that you want warmth in November. As others have said its all personal preference and your team did good this Winter
  5. Snow tonight? Icy patches are expected to form during Saturday evening and night especially on untreated surfaces and where showers occur after dark. In addition, showers are likely to fall as snow at times over Northern Ireland and above 200 to 300 m in Wales, giving some patchy accumulations of snow here. Please be aware of the potential for difficult driving
  6. Close to Stranorlar. Grass is white, pavements very wet and its easing off now
  7. Yeah the areas in NI fc to receive most got the least. Met Eireann had 1-3cm for Donegal and over 2.5 inches accumulated. I was lucky had continuous snow for 2 hours. Snowing currently in parts of Connacht and it isn't included in Met Eireann snow warning which doesn't even kick in until midnight. Plus the surprise snow on Sunday night, its not their best week for any of them ha. Started snowing here again cars white
  8. Lots of snow reports across Western Ireland at low level. I was surprised to see it properly snow this early at my altitude having read the M.O warning
  9. Wow looked out the window as I said that and snowing here ha 40m asl
  10. Snow reports coming in already. Westport in Mayo just had snow and Finner in Donegal recorded snow at 7pm update
  11. The snow melted quickly but for as strong as the March Sun is the air temperatures really didn't help. 7/8c. I've often had decent snow at the beginning of March from a properly northerly with only a partial thaw in lowland areas so it's far from impossible to get decent snow that stays its just simply not cold enough
  12. I had persistent snow for 2 hours. You were really unlucky Ronan. That band pushed SE from Donegal, largely missing the Northern areas of NI which were fc to receive the most snow when in fact central and some southern areas got a lot more. On a side note large parts of Donegal did great from it. In that regard they got it wrong
  13. 83mph gust recorded at Mace Head Ireland 4am 52mph sustained wind recorded at Newport
  14. The warm sector made a brief appearance here, temps went up to 3c and the snow melted. However, its now freezing again with 2 inches on the ground and giant flakes currently falling. 40m asl
  15. Nice covering here in Donegal and snow heavily. A warm sector along the West coast at present, temperatures have increased by 2-4 degrees widely as far North as Finner in the most Southern part of Donegal. Lets hope that's the limit of its Northern progress. Currently hovering just above 0c
  16. Yea Sperrin. On met office radar that shower off the Donegal coast is 16-32mm Rainfall (mm / hour)
  17. Cecilla graphics showed 5-10cm of snow across more northern areas on the lunch time fc.
  18. Colder air beginning to filter in to the NW now. 5c Malin Head 3pm while it's 10c further South and East
  19. Winds need to reach Amber or Orange level for it to be named and the Irish met fc gusts up to 80mph Status Orange Wind Warning for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick Westerly winds, veering northwest will increase to mean speeds of 65 to 75km/h with gusts of 110 to 130km/h at times overnight in exposed areas especially in the coastal fringes with high sea also.
  20. Woke up to find it snowing heavy in Donegal. Surprise snow, seems to happen most if not every year. Ground white Met.ie update for Ulster at 6pm did mention it but no warning- Tonight It will be dry this evening and for much of the night with some frost in eastern areas. However cloud will build to bring outbreaks of rain to the west later tonight, falling as sleet or snow at first. Lows of 1 to 3 degrees in freshening southerly winds. Castlederg 4c at 3am down to 0 at 5am. Temperatures were supposed to increase as the night progressed
  21. It does indeed. GFS has produced snowfest charts 5 or 6 times this Winter, one is bound to verify sooner or never
