2 inches is only about 5cm though mate,  certainly possible tonight. I reckon Leicester will see prolonged light snowfall through tonight. Won't look impressive but it'll add up by the morning. The PPN looks to stall and slowly die away over Central areas overnight.

BBC have me as 7 hours of light snowfall, maybe a cm or two. Hope you are right though!! You know more than me anyway!!! (Turning into shaky with the exclamation marks)

I honestly don't think this is over for the Midlands yet. I don't expect places to see 4 inches+ of snow but some parts could see 5-10cm. Probably more towards the South Midlands now but I still expect Birmingham, Leicester, Warwickhire and Northamptonshire to see an inch or 2 from it.

I really really really hope I'm wrong but 2 inches is a bit of an overestimate. Probably a dusting at best, really hope I am wrong though

To be honest, since I've moved up here in August last year. Plenty of people across the Black Country have mentioned that they/we often get snow each winter, and often used to read that Birmingham sees quite a bit of it. So whilst today might not produce the goods there's still another 5 to 6 weeks of winter left (guess like a lot of folk have been caught up with the talk of the SSW but GP mentioned today that end of Feb will be the period of interest).

Then soon the interest will be middle of March, then end of March..

I have snow! A single Snowflake just squeezed itself out of a thick patch of cloud and fell in front of me. Now, let's see if I can get a second flake later!

Better get to the supermarket and get your supplies

Been watching the radar for a while this morning it looks to me ( I may be wrong) t is tracking slightly more north than previously projected . im in Birmingham and I'm not ruling a snow event here yet.

Looks north but it will start to pivot and head south

Yup and still remember 2013 event!!forecasted 2-5cms but last minute the front continued to push north and east and got 15cms instead!!one of the best snow event for me in Leicester ever°!!today looks very similar but precipiation not as heavy!!

I'm sure Leicester only got like 6cm from that event

Only got 1's and 2's over the Leicester area, so I don't think we are going to get anything other than a dusting from this.

I do wonder if we will ever see a 30cm+ dumping in our area. Heck even 20cm+.

Leicester never gets more than 5cm. Pretty much bang in the middle of the midlands. Either too far east, west, south or north. Any ppn from any direction decays before it even gets here

BBC have just stated that further snow showers COULD occur tomorrow morning as the wind will use the North Sea even though the front is decaying. Lets see .

Ithink it is positive that ICON still gives some snow for most. The 10:00 output could be the one to watch.

(Remember my post on the 10th Dec 2017 event?).It was the only model to get it correct.

I personally think it is positive that it is coming in quicker,  but we will see.

    MIA

Do you think it's further north too?
