Sums it up. Couldn't be any closer. Time and time and time again the snow stops the second it hits the border of Stoke.

Looks patchy for the north and east mids anyway mate, not missing much. I'd rather have nothing falling than have 2cm that gets washed away the next day

Yh Hiralm is pretty nice, 12z about to start soon will there will be a shift North or South but wich one. Shift South and it's a dusting at best from flurries. Shift North and it's 5cm plus again. Heart says North but head says South on the past results. Place your bets now

South, always happens. I know I'm being negative but if you don't expect anything you'll be less disappointed

No point being too stressed or put out by the weather, it does what it does ?‍♂️

What I don't get is why some ar£& was driving 30mph on the M69 because of sleet/rain earlier?? Now that is over reaction

Omg don't get me started, was driving back from work in cov and it seemed like everyone was going sooooo slow just because of a little bit of light snow falling that wasn't even settling. I got road rage

What event last week?  it rained a bit and i think it was frosty on the odd occasion.

Whenever snow is forecast, it almost always misses the Derby/Nottingham/Liecester/Burton on trent area

Never seen such a more accurate post than this

Think I might have to make a trip back home to the Midlands for Thursday, don't really want to miss what could turn out to be my best shot at significant snow this winter. I haven't been keeping up with the forecasts, but assuming the Midland's cops it, what totals are we looking at? Thanks

I'd say 7-10 cm west mids, 3-6cm east mids,

Yes usually  they do tend to trend South.  Dec was ideal for here  we really hit the jackpot  Thursdays  could be in a similar postion  just got a nagging feeling it will be slightly further North   But to be honest it could end up anywhere.

Lol the last time Leicester got 10cm was on 4th feb 2012. Such a good event, constant heavy snow from 4pm till about 11pm. West Mids tend to do good from thursdays kind of setup though

  7. These events always trend further south akin to the Dec 17 event where all of midlands was the sweet spot and were predicted 10cm widely only for the main bulk of the precip to end up south of our region and central southern England and we got about 6cm. Not expecting much from Thursdays event tbh.
