anyone be so kind enough to explain this "Wishbone effect" they are talking about in the MOD thread and which is being shown on the weather warnings for Sat thru Monday, looks like the weather is taking the urine to me!!

I was just about to post saying it feels much colder now than it did this morning, does this bode well for anything that might fall later, colder ground and air?? I hope so cos everything that came down before disappeared as soon as it stopped!

Unless it gets a couple of degrees colder then it's not going to stick, after the amount we have had this morning, as soon as it stopped everything has melted!

is great again in Manc CC, have noticed the Met Office have us under a snow warning now for tomorrow as well??

4X4's are ok in the snow, they can "usually" get moving quicker, unless all 4 wheels are bogged down but they don't stop or go round corners any better, a 2WD car with decent snow tyres is better than a 4X4 on summer ones!

It's such a shame that now it is finally properly snowing, so much that it can't not stick, but it will all be gone by the time I finish work today looking at the weather reports!

has just started again in Manc CC after a 5 min break, sky going very dark and grey again.

woke up to sod all really, bit disappointed, got in the car, started the engine and practically a white out, really going for it at work in Manc CC!

We just had a short lived blowing in the wind bit of snow!

it's throwing something heavy and white looking down in Manc CC (can't really tell out of my office windows, am assuming hail\grauple?) oh and VERY dark sky!

very sunny in Manc CC, all the pavements (which were VERY wet earlier) now dried, wind very cold and a lot of cloud looks like it's heading our way, do we think this is all going to start earlier than forecast or am I just being overly hopeful??

I've no way to check the outside temp but have just been outside and it is a lot colder than when I got to work at 8:30, is it ok if I start to get a little bit excited now??? Edit: Also noticed the uksnowmap is starting to look a lot more populated too!

Yeah nothing at all around Salford\Manc CC but it is a lovely crisp fresh morning! Glad you managed to avoid damaging your car!

Thought as much, it's just too wet already and not cold enough, that really was a waste of some lovely snow earlier, maybe February might give us something!

Oh well, living in Salford means I can expect nothing when I get home, has pretty much stopping now in Manc CC and none looks to have settled anywhere, shame as there were some HUGE flaks coming down! Time to wait for the next possible cold period I see murmurings about in the MOD thread!
