Can anyone in the Merseyside area, more especially Liverpool, keep me posted on the potential for snow, for the next few hours? Working nights at Sainsburys and the shutters are down all around, not a window in sight. Like a prison here. Hoping to walk out at 7am to an ankle deep offering

Nice to see BBC sending reporter to Yorks middle of Amber warning yet reporter states Merseyside had it bad. We all know it's not that bad, but it shows how hard it is to forecast snow. ?

light snow in Wavertree. Cloud filling in though, although that may be the snow effect. Evidence of settling, ie not melting one iota.

Sunday can't come quick enough. Here in Liverpool, we continually get let down by marginality. Friends on social media, just over the border in North Wales posting pictures like they've just been holidaying in Vladivostok. We've had hail, grauple, sleet and rain. at 53m ASL, a good couple of miles inland, and what appears to be right in the path of most of the precipitation, we have indeed adopted the infamous snow shield as our logo. I normally have the proverbial half full glass, god knows I even thought England could have won the last test against the auld enemies, in Adelaide, but, methinks any time now one of the two flakes on Sundays BBC forecast will change from white to blue.. Happy snow hunting, send some my way.

2 questions guys for you more experienced weather predictors. Will Liverpool see snow. Also, I'm off to Bristol Saturday a.m. coming home Sunday pm to Merseyside. Will the predicted snow event be right in my driving path? Enjoy any white stuff guys here's hoping.

Dark, dank and sleety in Wavertree. Good feeling for 5pm onwards. The cold appears to be setting in.

Differing sizes of hailstone here. The odd flake as well. fingers crossed.

Unless they post some glorious piccies of the snow cascading down as they speak, and get the curtain twitchers going..
