My met app is now showing heavy snow from 8-1 so let's see

Hang on, the lone sleet symbol who refused to go home has managed to drag some of his mates back out to play.

It's downgraded at a rate of knots last few hours, it'll be rain for everyone at this rate lol.

Downgrade complete. Even Mold is on shaky ground now.

frosty ground There are a few who pop up mate when it goes wrong or look like going wrong, they need to get a life or another hobbie! Yes it doesn't look great now but there have been times over the lat 24 hours particularly it looked a lot better.

I disagree, yesterday and this morning where looking a hell of a lot better for certain areas than the latest 12z's.

GFS, maybe a few hours of transient snow. Looking a definite backtrack with the 12z's so far. Hills will prob still do ok.

frosty ground Yes it seems to be quickly going backwards, gfs just started so lets see what that comes up with.

To kick things off, the Arpege is pants unless you live up a hill. The icon is crap too lol.

russwirral Even the Heswall forecast has downgraded a little. Even though saying this kind of setup is our best, I've changed my view on that slightly. Our best setups involve a big blocking high to the northeast, low pushing in from the southwest creating a raw south easterly. We don't have that, so that's why I think it is far more knife edge and favoring elevation more so. I still think a period of snow is on the cards say 9-12 but I can't see totals being much above 2cm on the Wirral if that.

Mark_p I can honestly see a period of decent snowfall in our area between 9am-12.
