Because we have so many hit and humid nights in this country....

Just a week and a but until the evenings start drawing out again! The good times will soon be round. But yes, Christmas is a good distraction now for the next few weeks from that. I do enjoy very much all the houses lit up at this time of year. :)

One humid night is one to many in my opinion! Loving the cooler weather on the horizon, long may it last for!

It's quite amazing how fast the winter solstice is approaching. I think the very mild weather recently has helped late October and November to pass by quite quickly. Now we're at that point where we have Christmas to distract us from the darkest depths of winter too.

Not long now until we begin the journey back to those beautiful warm and sunny evenings. This will eventually be the view from my deck again:

Dreading those hot humid nights, defeats me why anybody enjoys it! At least now one can get a good nights sleep!!

People say that to me all of the time and try to convince me that it's a "thing of beauty", but it doesn't even look nice. If it did, I would maybe have a slight desire for it, but unfortunately I don't.

I can understand actually where your coming from, its all down to personal choice,i feel the same about any kind of heat or humidity,to me it doesn't feel, smell or look attractive(heat haze, baking countryside). Its just how we see things.

  4. He likes rain and flooded homes! I like it dry/ settled and sunny,

Dry,cold, gin clear blue sky,the best possible weather there is. Every season should have its own features, wanting just the mild dross is defeating the point of our fantastic climate in this country, you never know what is around the corner. We should count yourselves very lucky.

  5. I don't think "boring" is the right word to use? "Unpleasant" might be a  better adjective for you. Potentially reaching 20C in November is really quite some achievement. It's the sunny mild too, not the cloudy mild, which is also quite unusual at this time of the year.

i agree,my wording was probably wrong. Always looking for for that interesting weather and any thing knocking on to a record must be classed as that! Even though its not my perference!

  6. Well, on a slightly more cheerful note, I've noticed over the past 30 years, that periods of long standing high pressure dominance, seem to followed by cold spells. Especially periods of anti-cyclonic gloom.

So, let's hope this sticks around until December, and then it can beggar off northeast and give us the weather we deserve:-)

Very true, mother nature has a habit of balancing things out. Totally sick of this boring weather, need a change!

  7. Lol, at least my humour is not completely wasted.. it doesn't bother me what level other people have when it comes to putting the heating on - but I don't see why it bothers some that I put the heating on more readily.. it isn't their money I'm using after all!

Sorry your humour is lost on me,doesn't bother me when you put your heating on! As you said its your money. Everybody to their own.

  8. They need to prove their manliness.. me big man no feel cold grunt grunt.

Everybody has their own tolerance and threshold of comfort, some people feel very uncomfortable in heat,i just can't tolerate it for being comfortable,i work in 35c conditions most days so have got used to it but still find any sort of hot weather unpleasant. My tolerance is cold, not being tough or hardman, just some people tolerate temperatures differently. Needless to say my heating bill is always very low which is a big plus for me!!
