  1. And where did all this hype come from regarding snowfall from this front moving southeast? It may still happen that snowfall occurs but taking a look at this 'now' chart, head scratching can commence forthwith likes...
  2. And move to Scotland if you want snow.Yes I know most of the uk population are south of the border, however, the comments about 'no snow' and 'another mild winter' DO NOT apply to Scotland...trust me likes. ;-)
  3. And that image shows snow lying to around 150 meters asl just incase people really thought it was 'mountain snow' likes. :-)
  4. And in my experience, that chart screams of game over for cold.It is progress from the west.Move on another 12hrs and we all return to what we call seasonal weather likes.
  5. And the jet was modelled to resume it's normal trajectory a few days ago; It is still looking likely to do this over the U.K. through next week.
  6. And having a look at the jet-stream modelling, Tuesday 19th Jan. seems to be pivotal with energy moving out of Eastern U.S.A. resulting in cyclogenesis which would appear to move things on,such that by Saturday 23rd, the 'layabout' synoptics we have just now will have changed likes.
  7. And nothing forecasted the Christmas evening snowfall in Galashiels. The uppers were well in order as sleet was falling into +3.5c. I will take this likes.
  8. And a classic bombing is being suggested. With so much cold air flowing south, this is not unusual however it can be overlooked by many. These eyes will be paying close attention to developments likes.
  9. And day five now of falling snow in Galashiels.More to come in next days.Who needs a Scandi high when you live in Scotland likes? ;-)
  10. And although I have had four days of falling snow in Galashiels,I fully subscribe to the thought patterns of many herein, that we are wishing for a deviation from normal weather patterns to deliver protracted cold.(Or at least some cold synoptics).Asto next weekend, the models are showing a possible cooling. If this comes to fruition, again,a transient affair, it will be Scotland and highest elevations of northern England which will experience snowfall.I am searching for the classic block whilst still enjoying the meteorological here and now.I would like to know, what tangible dynamics created the pre-winter 2010 synoptics that we can be reasonably informed of these occurring in the future likes.
  11. And... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-35001276
  12. And I have had heavy wet snow showers this evening and the snow is settling around 250m.Yes I can understand the frustration of the community further south who haven't seen snow fall for a few years now and currently they are bathed in the mild side of the jet stream. This is day three of falling snow in Galashiels and winter is yet to start likes.
  13. And with charts like this, model watching becomes academic likes. :-)
  14. And in galashiels I have had two days where it snowed and one where it lay.I am 'progged ' for some sleety snow over the next two days before the wind source backs south west likes.
  15. And I am erring on the side of a normal/milder than normal winter with global warming factors not being considered within the models, which will continue to confound and confuse them going forward if you will likes.
