  1. I've never been so happy to get rain- it's very welcome even tho we missed the light show! Looking forward to seeing some of your photos later!
  2. Well, if you're back in Wally, there's bound to be a massive storm because I'm in Yorkshire for the week!
  3. Blimey. I drove through there earlier. Nothing on the coast at all!
  4. Same both at home and where I currently am. At home we've seen eff all rain since early June, and in a rural location fire isna real danger. Was really hoping for a decent downpour at least. Much as I love a storm, a positive strike could be bad news on such scorched ground
  5. I'm packing jumpers Oh Dami...am so sorry. Hope you can keep safe x .
  6. I'm coming to Filey next week, and looking at the forecast,it's going to be a shock to the system after today's 33.4c
  7. 32.2 c here too. Walked around the block at midday- out for ten minutes and burned my neck. Should know better, I know, but underestimated the power of just a few minutes exposure
  8. 31c here. Bored of it now. Off to Yorkshire for some welcome relief from the heat next week. Grateful for the low overnight temps of 14 last night- and my Dyson cool air
  9. I'm off to Filey next week and cannot wait to escape the erm breakdown 30c today.20c Monday
  10. Thank you! Yes, usually you can see new buds when you dead head the old growth, but these particular ones were on a south facing wall so have been very shocked!
  11. I had loads of pots of dianthus 10 days ago and despite regular watering they're actually scorched. I know regular deadheading is necessary through the summer months to encourage new flowers, but I can't see any new buds, which is unusual. I moved my acers behind a north facing wall in the shade and they've suffered too, not that that's unusual. Think I got the hydrangeas in time. They looked pretty sad last week, but have rallied and the new flowers look ok
  12. Absolutely no chance of anything igniting here am afraid. Been a dull day with no sunshine and just messy patchy rain now
  13. I feel you. I worked yesterday and today and it was 33 indoors. I slept this afternoon after my shift and now have cramp in both legs!
  14. Wind has picked up massively here. Feels very threatening all of a sudden!
  15. Hot and windy to start the day- thank goodness for low humidity!Local record gone. RAF Benson have recorded 37.2c.
  16. I'd been at work- 7 hours in temps in excess of 33c indoors! I had my magic fit flip towel round my neck the whole time! Thoroughly recommend them if,like me, you're not great at regulating your body temp. Anyway,I slept like a log despite having windows open, which is really unlike me. Woke up with a headache and feeling sick, so think I've got a touch of heat exhaustion. Luckily only working a few hours today. Fit flip will be my friend again!
  17. Happened here too yesterday. Up 8 degrees in under 2 hours, then a more gradual increase. Notable that the temps were still increasing at 6pm (albeit very slowly). Think they'll peak a lot earlier today
  18. Got to be some 10pm temperature records going if those East Midland's results are to be believed? Still 30c ?
