Under that conveyor belt (but outside the met warning) for the last 5 hours with no sign of a let up. Rain varying from heavy/ near torrential. No idea of totals, but my road which is a main access is like a river and will possibly be impassable in the next couple of hours if there's no let up.

The Peterborough storm had its origins across the river from me, then gained momentum as it moved North. It seemed to develop from nothing as we were under le clag Francais. Just goes to show strong insolation isn't always necessary
The chilterns are usually good for a storm. I can hear thunder from that Chilterns cell here
Yes. Our rain has come out of nothing, so must be fairly rapid
Well and truly smashed 30c barrier here. 32.8c gives us the hottest day of the year. Luckily, tho our garden is SW facing, we're surrounded by mature trees keeping the patio in shade for most of the day.
