  1. Temps on the rise here.Up to -0.6 C from -3.8 earlier. Walked back from the gym earlier and I have to walk over a bridge on an untreated road(joys of rural living!) and that was a tad slippy underfoot.
  2. Looks like a repeat of the last few nights here. -3.1C already
  3. Got up to 6C today. Positively balmy. Temps dropping away again now. -1.6C
  4. Unusual for here, but we've avoided the fog. Bright and sunny atm. Still hovering just below freezing As for the mod thread, I've found a feeling in my bones more accurate than some of their ridiculous fantasies!
  5. A mere -7.3 C here. I'm quite looking forward to things defrosting today!
  6. We`ve got the problem that its so cold all our leaves we swept up into piles have frozen into solid lumps!
  7. Benson airfield have recorded an overnight low of -8.2
  8. Ah,I do wish I lived by the coast. I`d be quite happy to swap my healthy negative temps for decent sunsets!
  9. Morning all. Checking in with -7.8C. Coldest night of year so far.
  10. I offer you -5 so far tonight.Feels a lot colder, though!. Think we've already had lower this autumn, but temperatures recovered in the daytime, unlike today
  11. Give it up, guys. None of you are going to beat my -5.6C last night!
  12. Yes. It's generally a degree or so colder there than here, though. I went out and gave my sensor a shake in case it was stuck and giving a spurious result! Down to -3.4C now
  13. Beautiful sunny crisp day, but temperature never got above freezing in my garden.(Not especially sheltered....thermometer showing -2.1 C atm and chicken's water is frozen solid!). Yet the official figure(4 miles yp the road) shows a high of 5C today. Shows what a difference a few miles can make
  14. We recorded our lowest ever temperature here in 2010! I had to cover all the pipe work in my utility room to stop it freezing over!
  15. I think that's only because in high density areas you will have a greater number of people going about their business especially at commuter times, but also there is a chance of being injured from flying debris eg hoardings, canopies, even bus shelter roofs being ripped off in a severe gale
  16. Chucking it down here. There's a narrow band of rain moving NW across CS England atm and looks like I'm stuck in it for the forseeable. Few miles either side and nothing!
  17. Nothing like the horrific floods we had here 2 months ago... not cracked 10mm imby.Have every sympathy for anyone affected today, though. Its miserable
  18. Meto have issued an amber alert for winds on the south coast from storm Angus
  19. Yes, I was just watching that hook forming. Glad am not under it
  20. Met office still predicting hail and thunder for my area tomorrow night. Be only the second thunderstorm this year if it does happen
