  1. Max gust so far here is 57 mph as the squall line moved through earlier/. After a relatively calm period winds now picking up 28mph constant, gusting 48/50 mph. Nowhere near as bad as what you guys have, but hey some numpty has decided to fell a tree across the road and we've a few hours til we get peak winds!
  2. Gust of 55mph recorded as squall passed through. Followed by slightly quieter spell, but winds now picking up again.Might be a slight change in direction to a more westerly from SW. Temp has also dropped for 11C to 8.1 C
  3. Squall line just passed through here. Gusty rather than constant winds..several over 40 mph in last hour. I really hate high winds so really not looking forward to the next 8 or so hours
  4. Sorry to ask this...is the dry area signigicant and how?
  5. Like the image....but quite concerned about sting je potential for my area
  6. Winds strengthening with every updated forecast for tomorrow here. Think my wobbly back fence might not last the day (especially as it's west facing!)
  7. Been windier than expected today. Winds only starting to ease now. Mild (11.2C), wind 24 C SW gusting to 35mph. Grey and hint of drizzle
  8. Windy here too. 23mph guting to 43mph. Warming up for Doris. Warnings for wind now extended south to Oxfordshire for incoming Doris.
  9. Tomorrow looks interesting herabouts. MetO currently forecasting wind sppeds of 27/53mph, but no warning for CS England. Wouldnt be surprised if there's an upgrade. A sting jet I'm not excied about though. I lived in South London during the 1987 storm and I'll never forget it
  10. Even this far inland gusts predicted up to 50 mph. Looks like a very brief spell of very windy weather, but nonetheless could have impacts even on a limited area
  11. Morning!Nice to wake up and go out in the light. Cloudy, but hearing the birds singing is making it feel more spring like. I am convinced they know more about incoming weather than most models! 6.2C here and doesn't seem to be any breeze.
  12. Cracker of a day here. Very light winds with broken cloud and some really lovely sunshine. Actually had to take my coat off outside and have even hung the washing out. T been in double figures all afternoon. Currently 11.4C
  13. Morning all. Mild overnight with T 8-9C. Overcast and dull now. Also looking forward to spring!
  14. Disappointing and dull. Temps got up to 11C, but without the sunshine it didn't feel especially mild.
  15. Complete contrast to yesterday with blue skies and sunshine. Feels pleasantly warm out of the shade. Love days like this
  16. Today's not so bad, but yesterday really was bitter here. Despite the temperature not dipping below freezing, I had to wear joggers over my leggings to walk to the gym. I rarely do that even with the frosts we get here. I don't know what the wind chill was yesterday, but it really did feel well below zero. But, like you said it is February. Now if it was as cold as this in June, it might be a news story!
  17. Yes! I woke up to the same! And those glorious leaden skies! I think that's it for the year here tbh. Looking forward to spring now!
  18. Sadly yes, and I'm as far east as you can get for this region. We seem to kill weather for a lot of reasons about here. We either get a stalling front(last September when Newbury and Didcot station flooded) or we have an invisible storm/snow shield. Topography has a lot to answer for and I guess the Thames itself might play a part. But even though this is a westward moving band of ppn, it;s still dying JUST as it gets here!
  19. I'm right under that big pink splodge on the radar, but it's definitely not snowing, or any other type of precipittion!
