So, what's the reason for the lack of showers? We've still got a bitterly cold howling easterly wind crossing a relatively warm sea. What's changed since Monday/Tuesday evening? I'm not complaining as we've done very well out of this early this week. Just want to understand what key factor has killed off the showers the last two days ?.
What an evening. Gale force easterly winds and a constant stream of heavy snow showers. Even had a rumble of thunder. And I've never felt cold like it. A remarkable event ?.
Not looking promising for Teesside at the moment. Most of the showers are fairly light with the heavier stuff pushing away to the north. Still, we've not done bad, got a few inches on the ground and saw some proper blizzard conditions last night ?.
Well to say that I'm in the Amber warning area, it's a fairly non event so far in Redcar. I can only guess the centre of the storm has tracked slightly further south which has taken us away from the strongest winds. There's still time I guess so I could be talking nonsense ?.
Currently in Haworth where we've had rain showers most of the day. The last shower had sleety elements in it. However, most of the showers seem to be heading just to the north of here which is rather frustrating.
This is such a shame, I used to enjoy watching these live streams before I went to bed. I hope they can resolve any issues or problems and get back online soon. I'd even be happy to pay a subscription fee if it meant it coming back :-)
I think most of the showers will die away as the winds will drop. Ice will be the problem overnight as a hard frost will develop. Could be some impressive low temperatures. A possibility of some snow tomorrow as this cold front moves in from the west, but I suspect any snow will be confined to high ground. Still a fair bit of uncertainty with this so keep an eye on the models and latest forecasts :-)
