  1. On FOX it says, eye about to make landfall at 7am (12pm our time)
  2. So it will only take 2 hours between the tip of the hurricane hitting and the eye making landfall?
  3. I doubt that, The eye is scheduled to pass at 12 pm GMT I don't think it would take 2 hours from the tip to the eye to pass
  4. Great Idea People...Why not set your alarm at 4 am so you'll be awake for landfall, instead of staying up all night?
  5. I hope I am able to watch live coverage when I wake tomorrow On FOX, it has STARTED, first preliminary storms now
  6. Thats when the eye will pass, the actual 'cane will start to pass around 4 am
  7. I wish I could stay up until 4 am but school in the morning so....
  8. Welcome to N-W NJWx, I think that has been posted earlier on in this thread, the hurricane should exceed what the warning earlier today said
  9. Yes, the whole system is bigger than the State of Louisiana  that is BIG
  10. I'm sure the 'cane will stay on course , and in Houston It is better than staying in NO because its only Cat 1 winds so much safer there
  11. Very True Kain, with the numerous zoos throughout NO, many lives will be lost I'm a BIG animal lover and I'm sure it will be devastating for everyone else
  12. It really puts things into perspective knowing that the people of this city believe that NO is doomed, and are showing this with that gesture
  13. There are now pipers playing Amazing Grace in NO according to FOX
  14. I think the magnitude of this hurricane has a bigger impact because its set to affect an extremely high populated city which has basically no defences for a Cat 5 hurricane
  15. Should be maybe Tomorrow Morning GMT Which would mean maybe late tonight in USA
  16. I think it just depends what the conditions are like when it weakens, Kane
  17. Thanks for the link Mondy Wish the bank holiday was here in Scotland, I've got to go back to school tomorrow and want to track this 'cane till the end. Will the remenants of this hurricane tail off over the UK later on this week?
  18. If you have Sky turn on to FOX News, brilliant coverage. Storm Surge of 30 FEET! With flooding to reach 35 feet by tomorrow!!!
  19. that wouldnt be the only problem rixxxgolf As American iceman pointed out to me, NO is below sea level and it looks like it will be flooded terribly unless the Hurricane were to be massively diverted.
  20. Is New Orleans the one considered the Amsterdam of USA because of all the canals? Because if it is New Orleans will be pummeled by Katrina, I was watching a programme about New Orleans and it says if it took a direct hit from a massive storm like Hurricane Andrew it would be flooded extremely badly Hope there is no loss of Live during Katrina
  21. Yay more great weather for us when it tails off here in about 14 days time ( I like bad weather )
