Update from the USA. We chased a lovely supercell in Montana and Wyoming, we ended up in Spearfish, South Dakota. Today we visited Devils Tower and watched as a supercell passed over it. We then moved and chased a bigger supercell which took us to Upton , Wyoming. Ended the day in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Ok day 1/2 Started in Calgary . Chased a storm about 20 miles north of Calgary beautiful backdrop with the snow topped Canadian Rockies. Things are going to quiet in Canada so did a 4.5 hour jaunt over the border in Montana, Interesting crossing into the USA from Canada. They had a sense of humour. I am glad we crossed over night we could have been there hours. Stayed overnight in a place called Conrad, Montana. Not sure where target area is but looks ok for SE Montana.

We had a few overnight storms , one severe , which I decided not to get out of bed to watch. The hail was pingpong size and did a fair bit of damage, virtually every car in the front car park sustained hail damage.

Second tornado near the airport

Last day before I fly home. We dinned in Fort Morgan, Colorado. Then we moved west towards a tornado warned storm which was heading towards the I76. We went south and sat and watched the wall cloud moving slowly in our direction. As we watched a cone formed underneath and it was reported that there was a brief touch down on the ground underneath the cone. The storm then started to die and the northern part strengthened off so we then moved east keep up with it. This was an interesting drive as we drove along wet and slippy dirt track through hail and under the area attempting to form a tornado. Because of time constraints we had to leave the northern storm and set off in the direction of the airport. As we drove south east could see a storm over the airport. As we neared the airport the storm became more interesting and suddenly Paul spotted rotation on the ground, we looked a the cloud above and saw it was a tornado. We stopped and watched it for well over 5 minutes. Planes were flying directly passed it. Amazing last day. Unfortunately my video decided to start to buffer data , so ran out before I could get the best bit. I will put what I can video wise shortly.

Well we chalked up another tornado, all be it brief and then went to a special place inside the hook of the storm. An area where the tornado is most likely to form. The rain curtains where moving rapidly form right, to left. Pretty cool. There were also millions of chasers and once again we saw a couple of wrecks. Video courtesy of James Menzies.

Last chase day . Started the day in Plainview, Texas. Chased in and around that area. One of the storms that we were on developed a brief tornado but had vanished by the time that we had relocated. We sat and watched in the hope that it would get its act together. Took a few photos. We are spending the night in Childress , Texas

Saw a huge HP beast and whilst filming the Tauris team doppler on wheels came passed.
Moved on to the Lubbock area and had to negotiate so of the worst flooding I have seen

We sat and out of the rain came a huge wall cloud - was weak but impressive all the same. It touched down briefly but enough to be classed a tornado

Well today was another long day but we were rewarded with a fairly nice Texas tornado. There was a chance for another tornado which was rain wrapped but did come out of the rain , just after we had moved to intercept another storm coming from the south. Our tornado was on the ground for about 5 to 10 minutes before it became rain wrapped. It was moving to the north east and so we tried another intercept as it crossed the road but had to retreat because it was still partially wrapped in rain. I saw it passing across the road through gaps in the rain, Ended the night in Woodward , Oklahoma. Photo of the tornado supplied by Martin Bunn.

it was a hard stressful chase and at times the flooded roads defeated us. however we caught three tornadoes. The tornadic storms where everywhere, A group of teenagers proved why you need to know what you are doing because the got stuck in a ditch. With a potential tornado, large hail and very deadly lightning barrelling down on us, we were helpless to assist. They were frantic. We couldn't get them in our van. They could only go sit in their car and ride it out. When we got to the town I waved down a cop and told them that three people were stuck in a ditch. We saw three emergency vehicles racing towards them. The tornadoes north of us were very violent and caused fatalities. We stopped in a McDonalds in Pryor. They had used the toilet as a tornado shelter and all the seats were placed in the toilets. We followed the wedge tornado for a long as we could and then after stopping to take lightning shots stayed in Tulsa.

Played around Tulsa area and bagged three tornadoes . Photos tomorrow . time for bed oh one was a wedge but still tired and need my sleep.

We sat on the 287 east of Childress as the Paducah came over hoping for it to drop again.

Did you cross the warm front from north to south at any point? Reports were that car windscreens were steaming up instantly, such was the difference in temperature across the narrow frontal zone. This apparently also added to the traffic chaos as some drivers had to just stop in the middle of the road as they instantly became unable to see.
It was amazing to cross from the cold air through the warm front the car steamed up instantaneously , in seconds. If I could spell bizarre that is what it was. As for the deer strike I have had to tape up my head light. Tom

The day didn't pan out as predicted and the tornado count not as great as anticipated. We saw one but from a distance because the roads were clogged with chasers , it was one long long long traffic jam. So apart from having a collision with a deer we are fine, however my van sustained some damage, but will live to fight another day. Spent the night in Witchita Falls , Texas. Looking to head towards Kansas today but need to take care with the flooding. Paul took a brief photo. I am sure the guests go better.

yWe are doing this briefing tonight because if things go bad as early as the potentially could , we may not have time to do this in the morning. It could be a bad day for Oklahoma. There will be a chance for significant tornadoes in Oklahoma

We started the day in Colby Kansas and stopped for lunch in Dodge. We sat south of Dodge watching storms developing on the dryline to the west of us. We then went and chased down the Alva and towards Enid Oklahoma. We cut through the front edge of a severe storm and got into a position where we could see some beautiful structure.
We stopped ahead of the storm in clear air for guests to take photos of the lightning and the got to a diner in Enid as the storm was hitting town.
