We are in Jamestown , North Dakota. Chased a few storms back to the town.
Todays choices are slightly hard but as tomorrow looks to be the main chance for tornadoes we may just head back west . So we may be heading towards Wyoming to put us in a good position. We may get some storms to keep us happy.

All in all a very interesting day. We watched quite a few storms trying to develop, they were moving ENE away from us so we dropped back onto larger a few larger more mature severe storms that were moving in from the south west. As we needed to be east for the following day we kept ahead of the line of storms. We stopped occassionaly to take photos.
At one point a small funell developed and so we cut south ahead a storm to watch the area of interest and allowed to storm to catch up with us. See video.
We then attempted to get into a position where we could film the mamatus clouds but that meant driving down dirt roads which had been made treacherous by the previous storm.

Had a great day, We had dinner in Roundup and chased a few storms. Decided to head towards Glendive and csught s glimpse of a funell cloud, We then got battered by the incomming dtorm

The one huge difference between heading north or south is the temperatures. South = 100f here it was 52f when we arrived and expect it to be even less when we reach our target area

Ok we area motel in Wheatlands, Wyoming. We are 4,478 feet above sea level at some points on the road from Chyenne we were over 6000 ft above sea level.
At this moment in time when we set off , we will be heading towards Casper and intend to be staying in Billings, Montana, however , watch this space.
Today is another travel day but may get some storms drifting over from the north western states.
From tomorrow we will have a few chase days.

There used to be a saying in Arkansas , if you dont like the weather wait around for an hour. This is true on the plains. We stopped off in Phillisburgh Kansas and recconsidered the options and turned around. We are now in Wheatfield , Wyoming and will be heading up to Montana in the morning.
There was a live band playing in Phillipsburgh so we stopped to listen.

Today had a lot to offer but didnt deliver.
We had a fantastcic day and chased a lot . The storms were joining togerther prickly quickly. We had a little bit of everything,, except a tornado.
We watched the storms developing and moving closer , plenty of CGs. At the end of the chase we sat on a railway line just north of North Platte Nebrsaka to watch the storm as it moved in on the towm. The structure was amazing and the lightning was abosolutely fantastic. I know some of the others took some brilliant shots. I hope they post some later.
There was a tornado that lasted about 20 seconds close to where we had sat. However there was so much loing on around our heads , it was all interesting.

After this we moved north and waited while a large supercell moved in from Montana. I had the most fantastic shelf cloud on it. I will post Grahams time lapse but feel sure that there are lots of good photos of it.
