I'm in sunny ulverston where are you ?

I’m currently about 60 miles south of Alicante in Spain. My flight home to Liverpool ( I say home I live in Spain now so more of a visit) I’ve been advised to change from Friday virtue of an email from the airline. I’m now flying back Sunday. They must be expecting some disruption at least potentially to send such an email.

As today ,tomorrow Thursday and Friday offers nothing here with a vague notion that a system will get this far without stalling ,I'll bet my car on  it not delivering anything here  ,and that's   Only 1 month old ,lol

Where about in south Cumbria are you?

yes this 'beast' has really been more of a pussycat, in terms of delivering snowfall for most of us.  March 2013 was infinately better in all ways.  this so far has turned into a damp squid

Try telling that to the folk who have plenty of th stuff. And more to come. Even Merseyside got in on the action and look like they may get more. I was due to fly back to Liverpool Friday evening from Spain where I live but the company I’m flying with have said I can change my flights for free to a later date as they expect disruption. Not everyone’s view that it’s been a poor event. And really it is only day one!!!!

Heavy snow shower now, could do with a few more of these.....im sensing tentative upgrades for the weekend with these fronts coming up from the south.

I’m sensing that too. My flight home from Spain to Liverpool is Sunday thought I’d missed all the fun. Fingers crossed it may extend a day or two. Some suggestion certainly it may prolong and Friday Saturday is starting to look interesting

You’ve got to be honest though, it’s a rather pathetic easterly so far when you compare it to previous events and the hype last week.

It’s trqcked further north. It’s made it as far as the west coast so hardly pathetic. Plus it’s only really the first batch. I’m sure you’ll get some soon enough. Good model watching next few days

Couple of cm's of powdery snow here. Beats the wet stuff we normally have hands down. Nice and crunchy to walk through and clearing the path can be done with a few light sweeps of a broom instead of the sweat inducing back breaking shovelling which clearing the wet stuff involves.

I’ve never understood why people clear the driveways and path. Not like you can’t walk or drive on it? Makes things worse usually with ice underneath. It’s easier to walk on snow. usually sit there with a nice warm cup of tea watching the one or two neighbours doing this and still to this day don’t understand the benefits. Plus I prefer seeing the driveway covered in snow, it’s boss

Heard in the radio today "heavy snow set to hit the uk, however, the worst of the weather will not hit Cumbria." Typical and inductive of this winter so far, sticking to my guns and only expecting a few flurries At best with no major accumulations here in south lakes.

Where about in the south lakes are you? I used to live in Liverpool (now spain) and the lakes was always my go to place for some fun in the snow!

Late one from me - looking good for Cumbria at long last for some decent snowfall Friday morning, hoping it will stick for a while before being washed away in time for Saturday - will be the first proper snowfall of the season, and I'm expecting the front to make stuttering progress northwards, delaying the inevitable thaw..

Was up in Cumbria a few weeks back? About three weeks ago. Had decent snowfall then. Was in windermere and went up the kirkstone pass. A good foot in places????
