  1. so 2nd January and already had more days of snow than in winter 19/20. just need a real snow event now so this whole thread goes nuts. anyone know if one is due? given up in the model thread the guys from the SE turn it into a regional. and if I had a £1 for every beast from the east or propper 850s I would be retiring about now

honestly think we will end up under a conveyor belt of showers as things become more unstable. BBC automated (yes useless) has changed since 3pm to 10pm-10am snow showers/ heavy snow showers. which is strange as everything else has gone opposite way

Stoke is definitely the sweet spot today. Looks a good few hours left for them on top of what they have had already. Moderate snow here now sky looks looks loaded.

think it will be a touch further west, it's slowing here now in stoke but, I think it will track Shropshire border all the way down. so anyone in west of region get ya ski's ready

  5. genuine question for the big guns in here. at the moment the top of the strat is spinning at record pace and is not coupled with the bottom of the strat. its forcast to slow significantly over the next couple of weeks. everyone is predicting this may lead to a SSW but couldnt it just make it easier for the trop/strat coupling to take place and that would be that??

I think he was joking.  However, another grim update from GLOSEA5!  It may have been wrong last year, but that’s not to say it will be incorrect for the coming winter.

just find continuous wet and dull so depressing and unhealthy. what i dont understand is the obsession with long range models when they are so poor. irony is they continuously lead to disappointment for folk not hot / cold enough, no snow/storms can they be so poor or is it purely our over eager interpretations as weather fans
