My thinking based on past few years is we all dont want a cold winter. So it will probably break all records. Snow galore, Ice hanging off rooftops for months on end. Skating on the Thames.

36C at bang on 11am here It was 33C at 11:45. Not that it totally makes a comparison but still reasonable confidence from me that I hit 40C. But let's see.

We touched just under 31C here so broadly 1C more than predicted today. Though hazy now.

Not cost effective, we don't get anywhere near the threats from storms that the US does. Its worth them having a fully manned recon squadron as they can recon hurricanes and investigation flights on tropical storms many times in a hurricane season.
Most of our storms wouldnt warrant having that tech and personnel lauig idle around around only to be used perhaps once or even less per year.

I am sure if UK public demands this in future it will happen. I can't think the spend would be warranted IMHO. But maybe my view is outdated. I would not be surprised.
