Not sure what to make of latest warnings. Geographically we aren't to far from potential sweet spot. But perhaps ever so slightly to far East for best here in East Hertfordshire. I am thinking say 2cm here. Let's see how it pans out.

Any chance of snow near Peterborough tomorrow or is that too far north? I keep seeing reference to a northern trend but the MO app still has nothing forecast
Could end up being Northern limit that. However at moment consensus is that it will likely be somewhat south of your location. Bedford sort of area.

High Wycombe and surrounding areas looks pretty good spot IMHO.

METO predictive PPN on the app for tomorrow looks poor for here. Based on that I think areas like Newbury might do OK.

As I said looks like the snow to north will be about 5 miles away. Looks good for Cambridge.

This looks like missing me by a few miles now. Probably just north of Bishops Storford it will go.

Looking like being grazed once again a mile or two in it as usual looking st the radar. Can the weather deflector hold out here...
Look like it will go near Cambridge. As you say literally looks a few miles in it for them to.

I often look at these warnings and wonder what Norwegians And Canadians would say if they saw a ‘severe weather warning’ for up to 3cm of snow
But those countries spend huge amounts of money on infrastructure because in several parts of their countries they know with almost certainty they will get snow and lots of it. Most people (in to weather at least) understand the circumstances that make it rare for snow in UK and hence likelihood of warnings for smaller values here than there.

Looks heavy Watford and St Albans. Rain?

I'm just outside it
I know that feeling many a time something coming in from this direction doesn't make it up to me. Apart from when it is all rain.

I just make it in to the warning area for Sunday. I fully expect it will be south of here though. Its nailed on to miss me.

Looks pretty damn heavy rain near Leighton Buzzard right now.

It’s a bit of wind, don’t get what all the fuss is about.
Bring back the good old 90s before media hype and naming of a low pressure system into some terrifying storm name.
Its a weather discussion thread. Seems perfectly reasonable for the poster to comment that conditions near them a bit nasty (squally) to me.

Agree Surrey just looked at Met Office wind speeds for a few locations later (midnight for example) certainly for similar values previously warnings have been in place.
Seems likely they will issue one in a few hours.

Well much earlier whilst still dark we had the heavy snow maybe for over an hour or so and at most say 2cm on ground. But since about 8am it turned sleety and been rain for a while now.
Certainly hope before winter is out we have a decent fall and February can sometimes be a great month.

Just popping in from Wales to tell you that temp here about 7pm was 0.3 c now risen to 3.6 c but not rain at present. So you all should be getting your slush about 5 am or even on higher ground, enjoy and also take some photos because it's going to turn to slushy rain as soon as the warm air digs in, such a shame.
Not meant disrespectfully but your conditions are largely irrelevant. It could be 3c in Wales and rain and 1ft snow in Midlands or EA.

It’s amazing that for such a small country there can be such pettiness about where you live, I mean the north v south really grinds my gears. I have a bias to ‘the south’ when it comes to viewing snow prospects and I don’t care what anyone says everybody does if they are on the hunt for snow!! Definitely an inferiority complex going on in a some quarters when it comes to how the mod thread is moderated. I think the moderators do a great job of trying to manage the challenges of how people behave in the virtual world, it would never be like this if we were all face to face in a room..! .
Anyhow the weather, seems a bit cold, no snow and not expecting any, northern hills and the dales only...
Not a small country by density. It actually enhances diverse reactions really

Met Office has downgraded the length and intensity of snowfall in North/North East London...
Not seen that yet but would be interesting to issue Yellow warning then Amber and then reduce again so quickly.
They seem pretty confident but things tend to change quickly.
