Another four rumbles of thunder this week, I am being spoilt! However my June rainfall total is getting silly - 84mm.
Up to 47mm on the coast up here, looks like you've been getting a bit more activity

3rd July last year overnight was certainly marvellous here. Lincolnshire regularly gets storms from any direction except the northeast. It's just the coastlines suffer due to cool sea temps destroying the storms!
Oh yes, the only storm we had last year.. Next village along had 4 beach huts burnt down from thunder!

You must have been imagining things! We are lucky to get 2-3 thunderstorms a year that only generate 1-2 strikes! But then further into Norfolk to the east probably does better.. The Wash up here completes destroys anything coming our way

Lets all take a moment to consider that North Scotland has had just as much rain from near constant lighter stuff pushing through, none of this lovely cloud scapes and thunder!

I long for some longer lasting mcs rather than these hit and miss pulse type affairs we've seen so far this year.
shoulda come seen me yesterday afternoon-evening Must of had about 50-100 strikes within 15 miles in a few hours, rumbles every few seconds!

Yep. Was good while it lasted and had the local coffee shop evacuated due to flooding.
But yes, a southerly, southwesterly or southeasterly will set up some loaded gun conditions around here, anything northerly or northeasterly and you can forget it!! Lol
Can you even remember the last time we had a decent thunderstorm from a nice setup around these parts? I most certainly can't!

Not surprised, my one hour deluge yesterday had the 2nd busiest road within 5 miles completely under 2 foot of water and shut until the early hours!

Had a good one earlier this afternoon. Nothing on par with that beast you got yesterday though!
North Sea crud has made it here now however and does a good job at killing storms! You know when that NE wind gets here it's game over under surface based conditions!
Was radar tracking that the whole time it lasted, happy that you got anything over that way! The crud got here around 4-5pm and killed my hope of getting anything again, shame as we had some great cells near Kings Lynn heading my way again which could have brought me a repeat event of yesterday

Don't expect anything else here for the rest of the summer now, yesterday was insane and I doubt much will live up to it, report of a funnel being dropped from one of the multiple cells from that beast we got along with totals in a village called Fring 6 miles down the road reporting 49mm in 2 hours!

How do you know how many miles away the strike was? :-)
Maps showing it struck right by a shop I drive to weekly which satnav says is 17 miles away

As I said yesterday it is virtually impossible to hear thunder from that distance.
Most definitely is, very faint rumble in the distance the second the map showed a closer strike then the rest. I was hearing them from that distance from across the wash easily yesterday aswell.

Looks like a very similar line of storms as yesterday around far E Mids/W East Anglia right now.
still baffled by the dry slot between Lincoln and Birmingham. Looks dry for the rest of today here now.
Not the same until I get my crazy storms again like yesterday And on that subject, just heard a distant rumble from about 17 miles away Heading this way but will probably die before getting here

Tempted to go and chase that new thunderstorm to my NE, but is there really any point after today? Nope!
Probably will just dissipate the second you get in the car

Cracking storm with a few close strikes!! Heavy hail and extreme rain now going on. What a day again!
Looks amazing, quite a core on it with a ton of thunder, when i go outside where its quiet I can actually hear a few very distant rumbles from it!
For now here, showers have started to build and come in, currently got very light rain just enough to allow the ground to be wet.

Huge rain drops now!
Showing on your cam

Very light rain just started, big drops, radar shows it as a light shower not expecting any thunder or heavy rain anytime soon
-
Waiting for William to say he just heard a rumble
