Some hefty snow showers this afternoon. More than 2cm now lying.
Temperature in the snow was -2C, at about 2pm. It's now starting to snow again.
In answer to someone's earlier question: it's about 4C colder this side of the cold front than it is to the south of it!

Sleet here today too. The snowline came down a bit at around midday, and I started to get excited. It only rained after that though! :cry: :cry: :cry:

Only heavy rain and sleet I'm afraid.
A friend told me of hail, thunder and lightning on the Isle of Skye yesterday though.

No thunder or hail to report. But it's sleeting, and there are plenty of snowflakes "up there"!
IMO - the air is definitely two or three degrees colder than was expected yesterday. The incoming LP system could deliver us some surpises?

The increased cloudcover had led to some very light rain here, if you look up at it, it looks like snow, but doesn't rain look sometimes like snow if you look up at it :?
Temp is around 4/5c anyway
At 4C, it quite possibly is snow! It's just that it's melting on its way down to you.

About 3 or 4C here and grey, damp with a light west wind.
As another said - it's the worst kind of winter weather there is.
