    Just taken this from Ainsdale beach on my old phone. They’re to my NE, long way away in an otherwise cloudless sky.

    Storm near us headed off North toward Preston way. Had about 5 good rumbles of thunder, still too sunny in Western sky to see any lightning. Chucking it down though. Can see lots of convection still going on behind these rain clouds.

    Thunder heard. Looks like storm clouds heading to us from the East......unusual Took grandsons out earlier and was telling 7 year old about the convection going on around us about 5.30 and that we may get a storm!

    Very fine snow here now.

    Still bright and sunny here after a yellow morning but wind is constant now with strong gusts. There’s a background hum to it.

    Took the obligatory red sun photos about an hour ago. Blazing sun here now , wind died right back again.

    Wind really starting to pick up here now, after a very quiet and yellow/green tinted start.

    Nice little storm just passing by along the coast here. No rain at minute.

    And it's gone for us I think, rain easing. But 5/6 close strikes with loud rolling thunder is better than nothing at all!

    Much darker to my East now Ian over Ormskirk way so you could be in luck.

    Very dark skies still to S and W travelling at a real lick, just grazing along our coast line. Sky has that almost green tinge to it.

    Distant thunder to west then north west travelling along the coast. V dark to S and W

    Steady rain here, but nothing electrical seen.

    Been stood in the garden watching the distant lightning flashes directly North.of here. Must be spectacular underneath it.

    Moderate rain now, dark. No T and L. Clouds keep changing direction.

    More to come here. Stormy skies all around, very dark to S and W again and still hearing thunder every few minutes. Only had v small amount of rain so far.

    Gone to the NE of me now. Wind changed direction again.

    Cell to S of me, winds now W to E, opposite of earlier. Not overhead. frequent lightning, very loud thunder.

    Very still and dark and hot (!) here. Birds quiet. Lots of distant lightning out to sea.

    Just woken after 1.5 hours restless sleep. Very dark here. Just seen fiirst lightning out to my SW/W, out at sea.

    Unbearable here, still 30 C. Cloud bubbling up to South and West and East.
