  1. My Mum just texted me. Apparently we have a bad storm in n.e bexley right now. Thunder and lightning literally above my house. My friend has also had thunder and lightning in sevenoaks. I'm in london at the moment. Typical! Hope it tracks this way. What are the chances we might get a second storm this evening when I'm home to enjoy it?
  2. Sorry if I'm being thick here but I see people refer to stuff as CB. What is this in weather speak? Is this short for cumulonimbus?
  3. Its looking good so far with some storms already broken out. Feels very warm and humid in london right now with hazy sunshine (although I am inside so it probably feels more humid inside than it actually is). Keeping my fingers crossed we get something in bexley this evening (border of london and kent) but at the same time trying not to build up too much hope incase it doesn't happen.
  4. Very, very warm and humid in london at the moment. No idea on temps as I'm inside at the mo, but being this warm already is a good sign. Fingers crossed we get something later on this evening. Good luck to everyone today.
  5. Large and rapidly growing Cumulonimbus spotted over Brixton late afternoon in mid April 2016. Pictures were taken within five minutes of each other so you can see just how quickly it grew in just a short space of time.

  8. Even hearing the thunder in the distance is nice. I'd even settle for that right now!
  9. Hmm, I dunno, there was a lot of crud around at about 5am this morning but when that pic was taken at 7am that was clearing and I noticed some clouds behind which looked like cumulus. Difficult to see through the remains of the crud but I'm sure they were cumulus. Could be wrong though.
  10. The view from North West Bexley at 7am this morning. Can already see cumulus building. Its pretty muggy here already with temps in the mid teens.
  11. Meanwhile in bexley...(crickets). What small cumulus there was earlier has either dissipated or moved away.Clear skies here and very warm. Don't see any signs of stormy weather on the horizon, quite literally. Is it me or am I just imagining a decade ago we used to get loads of intense storms in these parts and at this point in the year would have already seen quite a few MCS by now? The last storm I saw round here was back in mid april, which was a short lived pulse storm that approached from the south in the evening. It only lasted 20 mins although it did contain some lovely pink fork lightning and thanks to netweathers radar I knew it was coming and got to see the whole thing from start to finish. I've been patiently waiting for the next one since then but even though many have been forecast, I've not seen a single thing here. :-( I need my storm fix!
  12. After the initial cloud layer burnt off it's a beautiful mid 20s day here. Some cumulus building up but not anything significant that I can see.mid
