    Dramatic. I saw similar, (not as impressive), but lots of rain earlier in the year. Whole lot was slowly rotating, going nowhere. I expected a funnel any moment - never got one. My guess is yes, a funnel trying to form. Someonebody will come along now and call it 'scud'.

    Very wet and messy around here this morning. As amok says Pembs dangler train but thru Ceredigion, another train of showers threatening Pembrokeshire at the moment. No Meto warning though! Must have been quite some PWAT today. I never knew.

    Thanks. Also, I saw a met forcast this morning saying about the new moon. I guess they were commenting on the lightning display this evening. The darkness...

    I can't see how to edit my post with new netweather. Flashes are S and SSE (not SW) thumbs up symbol. Warm and windy while I'm at it! SW Wales.

    Just thinking aloud but if the netwx model is right, then the activity is slowing down and will reinvigorate over north Wales/ Cheshire. Meto warnings are north of that way, I wouldn't be driving south from midlands, I'd be going West NorthWest if anything 4 5 6 in the morning? Nothing seen here yet (not true, see edit) Some strong flashes seen S and SW

    Me too, but. My wife will be incredibly annoyed with me (as usual), yet whilst parts of Britain are getting thunderstorms that may or may not correlate with forecasts, I'm watching and will suffer the consequences later...

    Ball lightning could rollin and upset the mechanism rendering them always open, that would be my worry.
