  1. 1 thought goes out to the homeless the other goes to those two streamers on the east and s east coasts. These will penetrate well inland and we might just catch that one in the east.

The snow has intensified a bit here now. It's blowing east to west rather than sky downwards ?

    Be about -3 here..

I just looked at the GFS18Z snow charts and i think the shovel might be needed next week if thats ANYWHERE near right..

If you are going to need a shovel I think we will need the bulldozers out up here. We did with last proper beasterly.

As for meto they always fail to show snow penetrating western parts over the pennies on their forecasting and warnings.

A slushy thick dusting here which is now rapidly melting so no great shakes in terms of settled snow. Nice to see an hour or so of heavy snow though. Onwards to the next event.

On to the next ? looking at the models that will be sometime in February then which is annoying. We are definitely overdue a winter with a sustained cold & snowy pattern, that is for sure.

Someone from Oldham council just been on BBC news 24 saying they're expecting 20cm, obviously they haven't been updated of the southwards corrections then!

Not being funny mate but our company have put an alert out today for this area for the first time in donkeys years and they are expecting to be brought to a stand still. Whoever they are getting their premium info from has been correct so far.

If it's a correction south it isn't much and there is still a possibillty of another correction north. We shall see.
