[Snow on the way? April 5th onwards cold snap]

Just started to snow in Bacup, put the dog out for a wee and it came in covered in snow. Looking at the radar pics we could have more to come.

Thank you for your help. I managed to track down what I needed by going back through the snow reports and as I expected it had snowed on the night of the 18th March and there was snow on the ground on the morning of the 19th.

Please can someone let me know where I can find a weather forecast for the 18th and 19th March 2007 for the Northwest of England.

Going forward is fine, going backward appears more difficult.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

We have had very heavy hail showers all morning, the most recent shower is turning to snow and appears to be settling, fingers crossed it will keep on going. :lol:

Still snowing in Bacup Lancashire, having watched the sleet at work in Bury all day, what a wonderful surprise to drive home into snow. We are at 1000ft so hopefully it will keep going. Going out now again to put the horse to bed, just an excuse really to stand in the garden and watch the flakes come across the hillside in the security lights.

I hope it's still here in the morning so I can take some pictures.

Severe weather warning out for Yorkshire for this afternoon and evening up to 15cm on Pennines.

Meto are going get some stick over this one from those driving home this evening.

[Will it snow in......?]

Bacup and especially the surounding villiages usually do pretty well for snowfall due the altitude. If there is any snow in the area at all you will get it there. I remeber when I was a kid there would quite often be 6 inches of snow in Weir and and nothing at all in Burnley.

Many thanks for that, we have had some really good falls in previous years, but I have only lived in the "North" for 3 years and now it keeps snowing in London!!

What about Bacup on the Lancs/West Yorkshire Border, at 325m asl or are we too far north to catch this one?

Had a 15 minutes of white out here in Rossendale Valley, Lancashire with large snow flakes which have settled nicely. Hope we get some more tonight.

Just a covering of snow in Rossendale Valley this morning, but melting in the sun. Also its getting colder as we speak, my pond has frozen over since first thing this morning. Hopefully we will get some more snow. At 1000ft we usually get something.
