  1. Remember a fantastic thunderstorm last year on the 18th July we were under that mesoscale system that had developed over the channell and pushed into reading Aylesbury Wycombe places like that would be great if that happens again
  2. Ok but easy to misunderstand. When we are on a thunderstorm forum.
  3. You are somewhat correct on this basically a tornado can dissipate for several reasons if any ingredient suddenly goes missing it will die.not just that but a tornado will always eventually die even with the ingredients because nothing can last forever it has a lifespan just like us humans.
  4. For now the southern half of the UK is the best place atm but it's too early to say what region is best ?
  5. Its too early for that the best advice is to just keep checking the charts and forecasts by Wednesday or Thursday I think we'll have a better idea.?
  6. You can disagree with me but what I'm saying is correct you say about steepish lapse rates but like I said not enough for any thunderstorms and you've also miss quoted me I said wind shear was one of many factors inhibiting any THUNDERY development didn't say it effected the amount of showers that would form but the rest of your text I agree with such as the trough moving too slowly. Anyway let's agree to disagree.
  7. We have a very have shower approaching my location it is very close too.?
  8. We have a very have shower approaching my location it is very close too.?
  9. The very cool sea surface temperatures in the channel is a contributing factor but humidity not particularly high which doesn't help also low wind shear the air is pretty stable but not stable enough to allow a few isolated thunderstorms to break out .
  10. You say that but I live in Aylesbury just north of the m4 and there's been unbroken sunshine since well before midday and there are a few isolated showers heading our way but bear in mind unbroken sunshine does not mean you'll get thunderstorms or showers because you need several other ingredients which we are absent of today tbh which explains why hardly anything has happened. Pressure is quite high which doesn't help.
  11. Yes there's a chance but the storms over the channel will mostly die out over the channel plus there isn't much time until the sun has gone which will hinder any real development although isolated thunderstorms/heavy showers will and are breaking over land as a result of the warm land mass with a marginally unstable air mass/ Kent clipper is a possibility too this evening but nothing too significant is expected.
  12. Yes there are a few heavy showers developing near reading and just south of Aylesbury and Oxford. They will continue developing and pushing northward in the next hour or so..
  13. True although still a couple hours until then and some isolated heavy showers/weak thunderstorms will break out before then across southern parts but will be very isolated I think.
  14. Indeed some of them I think will make it across the channel but probably not many and pretty weak thunderstorms too but I've got a watch out for southern parts this evening.
  15. This is what I made earlier showing what I thought would happen tonight.
  16. Some pretty heavy rain now crossing southern counties which the met office didn't forecast they said "mostly dry un til dawn"
  17. there is a really torrential downpour going on in the southwest right now.
  18. I know I'm not Nick but I think they will move west northwestwards though the south MIDLANDS and southern parts pushing towards south Wales by Dawn...
  19. I'm talking more about the fact they are dying as they cross the channel and that's okay you don't have to click on that link I sent that thinking it would clearly show up straight away
  20. Take a read this is just for fun but my interpretation of what's likely. DURING TONIGHT AND INTO TOMORROW MORNING A BAND OF HEAVY RAIN PUSHES THROUGH THE WARNING AREA WITH LOCALLY TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS LEADING TO LOCALISED FLOODING.. MINOR IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED
