  1. That's probably due to a much cooler than average English channel plus the continent has only just warmed up after severel severely cold weeks but things should be back to normal by summer..
  2. Thought I'd share my forecast for today.. snowfall across parts of northern and Central Scotland continues today with accumulations mostly on hills with only slushy deposits at low levels the central belt should have mainly rain and sleet, a heavy band of rain pushes into northern England and southern Scotland this morning which will turn to snow for southern Scotland and perhaps northern England this evening before clearing away. Elsewhere across England and Wales sunshine but also a rash of very heavy showers around which will be very widespread and giving local hail and thunder in some places also showers will tend to merge to give longer periods of heavy rain particularly for Western england and the midlands some places could see as much as 10 to 20mm by the end of the day although some places will recieve less than this. Temps of 11 to 14c for southern parts but elsewhere 8 to 10 more typically and for scotland only 4 to 7 a best lower on hills. Hope this proves accurate but this is for fun
  3. I've made my own little warning map in recent days and I think I got it spot on if You would like to take a look just let me know ?
  4. Yeah there was a mixture of rain and sleet in aylesbury especially when it really came down this was an hour ago
  5. I reckon between 20 and 40mm broad I know for the south west and Western parts of England tomorrow and tonight
  6. If you look at my little prediction this morning I mentioned possible snow for Dartmoor and exmoor meaning the devon area I'm quite pleased I got that right ?
  7. This is my little forecast on what is likely to happen today.. heavy rain pushing into southern counties during this morning more towards south Wales and the west country at first but the rain band broadening to cover most of England and Wales some of this will be heavy particularly for east Anglia in the afternoon and very persistent some places could see steady rainfall for over 12 hours. Total accumulated rainfall totals by tomorrow of 8 to 12mm for the east and 16 to 22mm for Central and Western parts of England and isolated totals of 30mm. Possible wet snow later for Dartmoor and exmoor.. Top temps of 6 to 9 Celsius. Very dull practically no sunshine but the odd sunny spell can't be ruled out near the south coast. Tonight rain continuing in a line from Wales and Southwest England through the Midlands and east Anglia but tending to turn lighter tomorrow morning. Have a nice day hope my prediction is accurate.?
  8. Hm interesting some showers pushing into the south with sleet and even snow but that should quickly turn to rain showers as the powerful sun gets to work. Rest of the day a band of heavy rain pushes into much of southern England and Wales during mid morning into the early afternoon followed on by sunny spells but also numerous heavy downpours with hail and thunder possible too some of these could merge to give longer periods of rain I expect rainfall totals to be in the region of 4 to 8mm locally 10 to 12mm and top temps 6 to 9 Celsius. I expect flooding to become an issue for parts of the south by the end of the week..This is my own forecast hope it's correct haha ?
  9. I know I'm late I'm also very new to this forum but here are some pics in Aylesbury buckinghshire yesterday of the snow my birthday was also yesterday
  10. Yesterday was my birthday I am 19 now and I’ve never seen snow on my birthday which was very special
  11. yeah im in aylesbury and it was really heavy snow for about 20 minutes with big fat flakes.
  12. my thoughts is that we will have a northerly flow bringing freezing cold air from the arctic bringing widespread snow at times for early December but then a transition to more stormy conditions and milder for a time mid-month before colder wintry weather returns for the end of December coinciding with the Christmas period. i think January will start of wintry with northerly winds blowing more frequently than normal and a fairly blocked pattern to the north of us then for the middle of January through to the end of February i think we will see a generally zonal pattern with some stormy weather but with the jet stream further south than a normal zonal pattern should be then storms will probably be affecting more southern parts of UK and France. with cold northerly wakes in between systems so zonal but with wintry weather behind storms. this is just my own opinion based on some model outputs
